Question to the Sec. of State, Transport @Heidi_Labour. Does she agree with the Prime Minister: “…you shouldn’t be able to carry people from place to place if you havn’t got the facilities to ensure everybody can get safely on or off…”? @NFBUK.

TfL have spent a billion on bike tracks, but are now blaming good weather for a terrible increase in serious cyclist injuries. Any comment @willnorman; @Sebdance; @MayorofLondon; @TfL

Terrible, road safety data just published by @TfL and pretty thin spin blaming: “the unusually good weather”. “…overall there has been a 14 per cent increase in the total number of cyclists killed or seriously injured. See full report:

These cross markings are meaningless. And I am sure unlawful unless @CamdenCouncil has special dispensation from @transportgovuk . Their real purpose is to avoid their legal duty under the Equalities Act by demonstrating they have thought about the discrimination.

.@TfL are putting up posters telling us how good their bus services are. The data in their reports show a different story that is going unreported: “We missed the target for 2022/23, 2023/24 and 2024/25.” @davehill @ellybaker

Fact checking the @MayorofLondon. This is untrue and should be referred to the Advertising Standards people. London’s buses have never been slower according to London’s statutory transport watchdog, @LonTravelWatch. Journeys are grim!

Dear @MayorofLondon, The evidence is clear. Overwhelmingly (80%+) deaths & serious injuries on our roads occur at intersections. Slower speeds initiatives and targeted engineering at junctions is key to reducing casualties. Bike tracks and complex junctions are a waste of money!.
The evidence is clear - 20mph zones save lives. In London, they’ve cut deaths and serious injuries by 34% and child fatalities by 75%. That's why we need to see more 20mph areas. My op-ed for The @Guardian ⤵️.

Hackney borough was the most successful cycling local authority in the UK between 2001 and 2011. Then the cycle lobby was much gentler, cared about walking and buses too. We never understood the madness of the new cycle activism.
I have a column in today's Times which argues that cycling policy should focus on short-distance cyclists rather than speedy commuters. You can read is below. Give short-distance cyclists priority over speedy commuters. John Stewart.Tuesday August 12 2025, 7.49pm, The Times. It.

Ken Livingstone put road safety at the centre of his mayoral election campaign today, confirming his plans to introduce 20mph speed limits for all residential roads in London

The evidence has been there for 25 years. Ken Livingstone actively promoted and funded 20mph. Latterly Mayors of London ignored data-led road safety intervention, preferring instead to follow the campaigning of the cycle cult.

These people are disgusting. The ‘blind man’ is Andrew. He can travel half of London, but can no longer travel to his local supermarkt since they put a cycle track through his bus stop. He is the former president of the blind persons charity @NFBUK. Who is this anonymous avatar?.

The reversion of the Shoreditch triangle to two-way was one of the most successful interventions of Ken Livingstone for cycles, buses and pedestrians. @SadiqKhan would be well advised to ignore the London cycling campaign and talk to Trevor and Oliver latterly of Hackney Cycling.
A junction that's only just good enough isn't going to keep people safe. ✍️ Take the Shoreditch High Street consultation and call for better:
