The reaction to women celebrating the @ForWomenScot legal victory only serves as a reminder that while the law is the law our culture remains dead-set against women who say no. My final column for the Observer. (Read on for what's next. )

It wasn’t a surprise to anyone with knowledge of the law and the courts that McCloud wasn’t granted permission to intervene as an individual in FWS v Scottish Ministers at Supreme Court - would be helpful if news reports could give an impartial account of why it was never likely.
1/ Would be Intervenors in the Supreme Court must obtain permission by demonstrating they are raising significant points of law of public importance. Here permission was rightly denied because the SC does not entertain anecdotes or repetition.

It’s just nuts the Scottish government is having to be taken to court (again) in order to force it to comply with the law.
We are taking @scotgov back to court. We have been left with little choice as the Gov has refused to quash school & prison guidance. Papers have been served & the Gov has 21 days to respond.

Concerns about self-id leading to violent and dangerous men identifying into spaces where they can harm women and girls have never been "abstract" as Nicola Sturgeon says. Self-servingly arguing that now just shows how little she understands about systemic male violence.
The girls assaulted by Dolatowski were not "abstract". Or the women later banged up with him. He was being brought to SG attention from 2020, at least.

A very important appeal - with crowdfunder. A gender critical police officer is suing the police after attending a police event where gender critical views were referred to as "warped and twisted". Her barristers are Naomi Cunningham and Will Young.
