is not easy. Grieving while being so isolated feels awful. I was able to say goodbye to her via Facetime, as she (and my immediate family) are across the country, I could not be there in person.

A doctor can lose their license if they give (esp a cardiac patient) the wrong advice. In an ambulance they can resuscitate and have a defibrillator. Also, sometimes paramedics ride along with high risk cases, and they are permitted to administer meds/IVs. EMTs are not.
