China Spy Scandal: “If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck - it’s a duck”. 🦆 Geoffrey Cox’s brilliant 4-minute demolition of Starmer’s position, his statements to Parliament and a damning exposé of his humiliating weakness on China.

Detailed thread, well worth reading to understand the erosion of political accountability and impact on UK national security of the rapprochement with the Chinese Communist Party under this current government.

I spoke to a member of the House of Lords yesterday who didn't know that the Lords has constitutional prerogative to vote down the assisted death bill (as it is not a government bill, nor a manifesto promise). This needs to be understood by all legislators concerned.

6. Data security - criminal hackers are effective in their methods. If a person has a digital ID hacked or fraudulently misused it may well bar them from participation in daily life. Large scale hacking of supposedly safely-held UK public sector data is a recurring issue.

Laila Cunningham: So is it [Online Safety Act] also about censoring adults? Yes or no? Labour MP Barry Gardiner: Yes. There we have it, a rattled Barry admitted that it’s not about protecting children, it’s to stifle free speech from the “wrong” views.
