Hmm. If that really was the content of the sermon, I’d be concerned that your preacher was telling you what you wanted to hear rather than challenging you with the gospel. Both the ‘woke liberati’ and the English nationalists need to know that they are sinners in need of grace…
A well-attended carol service at St Michael’s Church, Cornhill, for the launch of Christian Fellowship for Reform UK. A special thanks to the outstanding choir for their wonderful performance, and to Reverend Henry Eatock-Taylor for delivering a brave sermon about the very real

We are definitely in a relegation scrap and Ismael might get the boot now…but I’m really not sure that would be the wisest move. Such joy!

For this week’s A Mucky Business podcast, I was joined by my friend Danny Kruger MP - we discussed his defection from Conservatives to Reform, what it means to be a ‘Christian country’ and how Christians might relate to the idea of nationhood.

This is a good thing. Labour, Lib Dems and Conservatives all have their own Christian fellowships. You can share a faith and come to different political conclusions. Though if we’re Christians, we need to remember that politics cannot save us, it is important but not ultimate.

Standing room only in the debate on the petition against ID cards. They are an attack on liberty, counterproductive and a ready made toolkit for the worst kind of despot. As Harry Willcock said ‘I am a Liberal, and I’m against this sort of thing!’

Come off it. I went to a northern comp in the early-mid 80s. It was rough sometimes, but all of us knew that racism and bullying were despicable and that those who did it were choosing to be appalling people. Forgiveness is of course possible, but not without repentance…
You’re not a ‘victim’ if someone is rude to you at school. Try a Northern comp. I had my head smashed into windows and walls, chairs were thrown at me, I was spat on more than once. This was all normal. The actually bullied kids had it worse! https://t.co/RHUnUuzn5V

🗣️ "There is another opportunity in the New Year where we could genuinely defeat the family farm tax." @timfarron, reacting to Labour's suspension of Penrith & Solway MP Markus Campbell-Savours, said there was 'still hope for farmers' in the form of another vote on the family

Grateful to have contributed to this important paper on food security lead by @timfarron . In an increasingly unstable world, the ability of a country to feed itself is not just an agricultural issue, it is a national security priority. https://t.co/lfyoIO5PeB

A busy Saturday in Kendal so far: joining the British Red Cross to mark the 10th anniversary of Storm Desmond; having a lovely time at the British Legion Christmas Coffee morning; and then knocking on doors listening to local residents’ concerns. Off to Ambleside now!

The aim of this paper is to provide a practical answer to the challenge of making Britain food secure, based on the input and expertise of those who know best: those producing the food we eat and those who get it to our tables. You can read it here 👇 https://t.co/ueQ1kpIwrC

Today, I launched @LibDems positive plan to increase Britain's food security. We've set out practical steps the Government can take to help get young people into farming, tackle food poverty, and back our farmers to produce nutritious food whilst caring for our environment.

Lib Dems are calling for a fundamental cultural shift in our attitude towards farming. Our Farm First scheme would treat food security with the seriousness it deserves, finally giving young people the training and incentive they need to choose farming. https://t.co/idn5Uu4BsS

It’s not an official earthquake until we see a PR photo of @timfarron standing next to a collapsed wall and looking concerned
