Worth noting the DCBOE has estimated the cost of a special election as being in excess of $300,000. Again, it’s reasonable to assume a recall election would double that figure. No doubt turn out would be low for both, which is critical to the end game of the political calculus.

The recall is both a power move by some and a genuine reaction of frustration and fear by others. Either way, it simply won't fix the issue. Crime stats are improving, crime lab getting accreditation, OUC issues revealed, etc. Allen was just elected with no competition.
