Sung-ha won a year of free metro access and he says it will change his life. I am happy for him but something is really wrong with this system. Metro should be f.r.e.e.

Striking story from @JulieZauzmer about one of D.C.'s vaccine lottery winners, Sung-ha Jou, who has suffered so many blows during the pandemic. “This is literally God-sent. I am so grateful for this."

case in point, police mostly respond after the fact. Infrastructure changes or slowing (or stopping) the flow of car traffic is more effective.

@JWPascale yea people sometimes ask me "how will you pay for free metro??". i wanna reply with "how are highways paid for?" taxes. yes taxes. advocates have to name it and embrace it. we pay for roads with taxes, and funding public transit is just as important.

When I organized press conferences on Capitol Hill with union workers, @ewarren always showed up. Always. She was there for working families and I hope people regardless of the candidate you supported recognize that and continue to support her going forward.
