The must attend event of the year for parents already thinking about summer camp plans for the kiddos!
The D.C. Camp Fair is coming on Saturday, Jan. 31, giving families citywide a free and fun opportunity to come learn about dozens of summer camp options in one place! We'll be returning this year to @StuartHobsonMS while J.O. is under construction. Come join us!

Federal DOT trying to scrap road safety in DC. Wrong to frame this about $. While it would have a huge impact on city finances, more damaging effect is on safety. Just as we’re lowering traffic injuries & deaths, this would give a green light to dangerous drivers on our roads.
Scoop: The Transportation Department is seeking to scrap the use of automated traffic enforcement cameras in Washington, a move that would cost the city millions in lost revenue but would likely be cheered by many drivers in the nation’s capital.

5 years ago, our Capitol, officers, & neighbors were attacked by a mob. We can't let this dark anniversary pass without remembering it & calling it for what it was - an attack on our nation & laws that some seek to erase & rewrite today. My full statement: https://t.co/yJ1zSqYWdJ

Barry was spot on with his column the other week about DC’s important historic public golf courses. And now, as expected, Trump has broken the lease for DC’s public courses & their improvements. I expect he’ll look to self deal the land/courses for $$$ & they won’t stay public.
This one is personal: National Links Trust has grand plans for D.C.'s three public golf courses -- make them better but keep the prices down. Why would any administration get in the way of that? (Also: Don't mess with my Friday tee time at Langston!)

This means DC can spend extra money on things like healthcare programs, early childhood educator payments and much more. The CFO was supposed to deliver this news a month ago, but it’s welcome news for lawmakers all the same: a sign the economy is maybe not as bad as feared.

Tracks with what most retailers and restaurants reported at the time.
Interesting: New data from @BrookingsMetro shows that spending in D.C. dropped significantly when President Trump deployed the National Guard in mid-August. Similarly, hotel revenue has been on a steady decline since mid-summer. https://t.co/d6YDPXbDj7

Needless to say, this is a very bad idea.

We tallied up the Rewind stats for my whole team 👇
You saw @charlesallen's Metro Rewind—here’s what our whole team racked up! Some of us walk everywhere. Others bike when the weather allows. Many take the most efficient bus/train. One of us takes the longest ride just to read more. 📖 But we all rely on @wmata to get around!

NEWS: The D.C. Council has rejected a bill that would have delayed the rollout of ranked-choice voting next year, both for the June primary and November general. RCV is now a go. Only votes for the bill came from Bonds, Felder, McDuffie, Mendelson, and Trayon White.

I haven't seen it get much attention, but there's another effort to delay Ranked Choice Voting today at the Council. I'm a no on any delay. There are huge decisions coming next year for DC residents, and ranked choice voting will better reflect voters’ views at the ballot box.
Later today the D.C. Council will vote on an emergency bill that would delay ranked-choice voting. @AnitaBondsDC, who introduced the bill, says she worries that the D.C. Board of Elections isn't ready to educate voters ahead of the 2026 elections. But...
