60 years ago today, streetcar service came to a (temporary) end in D.C. on Jan. 28, 1962. While D.C. is currently home to a 2.2-mile streetcar line along H Street NE and Benning Road NE, there used to be more than 200 miles of streetcar lines that zig-zagged across the city. /1
