I think many of the UK’s Windrush generation (my dad) would relate to this. They were so desperate to integrate, learn the customs etc and faced real, cold, hard racism when they arrived but worked hard, didn’t get any handouts but made successful lives here and contributed loads

It blows my mind that people don’t get this. I brought up my kids to be gender neutral in that there’s no such thing as a ‘boys’ or girls’ colour/toy/hobby’ they could do what they liked regardless of their sex. Sex and gender are different - conflating them is mad.

One of the best things parents can do is to have an agreed ‘tech switch off time’ every single night. Phones off, put in a drawer every night at 7pm for example. Lets kids sleep, rest, digitally detox, protect from predators, bullies
