@simonharris_mbd Part of the problem is that until a couple of decades ago (maybe less) people weren't encouraged to take a private pensions. Lots either couldnt afford one or in jobs that made joining a scheme difficult. Remember if you're poor when your working you'll be poorer when you retire.

@paullewismoney I 'inadvertently' had a state pension rise this year. This pushed me into taxation and HMRC took it from the actual date of the pension rise. No flies on them for us 'ordinary' people it seems.
