I am excited to share our latest research on the arachnoid barrier, a crucial yet poorly understood structure that partitions the CNS and the dura, out today @Nature. We discovered that gaps in this barrier allow communication between the CNS and the dura.

Nature - Arachnoid cuff exit points create openings in the arachnoid barrier enabling the drainage of cerebrospinal fluid and exchange of molecules and cells between the dura and the subarachnoid...

Thank you for the wonderful @NeuroCellPress Preview write-up about our recent publication on the velum interpositum (the VI-P of the leptomeninges) @SiegenthalerLab. I'm just disappointed that I missed out on such a good play on words.

It is debated whether poor #blood flow underlies white matter loss in #aging. Our recent study in aged mice supports this idea: Impaired drainage through rare, deep-reaching #venules causes mild #hypoperfusion that triggers inflammation and demyelination. https://t.co/nDVjgZjnWa
