I'm excited that @Jjiyeon_lee's 2nd paper from the lab is out in @NatureAging. We found that the circadian gene REV-ERBalpha regulates brain NAD+ by controlling CD38 in astrocytes. REV-ERB KO or pharmacologic inhibition mitigates tau pathology in mice.

My final paper from my PhD with @ErikMusiek is now on biorxiv! We asked if microglia and astrocytes have the ability to change which genes are expressed in rhythmic manner during Alzheimer's pathology and during normal aging.

Very happy to finally present my PhD paper in the Musiek lab where we find astrocyte activation via loss of Bmal1 abrogates intra-neuronal tau/synuclein pathology! We also find Bag3 upregulation in a cluster of astrocytes in human AD patients that resemble DAA astrocytes! 👇
