To borrow from another piece from @RMedzhitov et al, this observation speaks to food allergy evolving as a hard-wired quality control system. Bad food? Reject it. Why, then, has this mechanism evolved against foods that are fine for most people? (4/6)

This is the right move. Other grad studies programs need to follow suit. Grad students- this is what your program looking out for you looks like. They aren't getting any extra $ for doing this, more than likely it comes from their grants. Still, it's the right thing to do.

From those anecdotes, this can sometimes be the difference between staying on allergen immunotherapy and ceasing. We know that most who cease will relapse into clinical allergy. This relapse is very likely due to memory responses that reconstitute allergen specific IgE. (2/6)

@stephanielangel So many circulating B cells (not PCs) express J chain... And most are not IgA... Saw this in our single cell work time and time again but never had much of an interpretation. Thanka for sharing this, I can't wait to read.

Food allergy is often considered a misplaced immune response against innocuous foods, but in that case why have we evolved to have an IgE-mediated mechanism that dissuades consumption of a food? (3/6)

Tour de force from @MazDivangahi . Such a unique thinker, but makes it seem like the ideas are only logical. The work is so clear, the experiments well designed, and succinctly explained. Blown away. #PereySymposium2022

@samworkenhe @sci_questions You're both stellar, regardless of these rejections. It's very reassuring to see folks I look up to struggling with the same things that I stress about. Thank you.

@Plasmacellguy I suspect that @LabPhan would have done it in some of his beautiful intravital stories.

Sharing two new preprints using our LIPSTIC technology to find DCs that prime CD4 T cells in two very different (and important) immune settings. This 🧵 is on a study led by @AlexChudnovskiy (🇺🇦🇺🇦) on the priming of a CD4 T cell response to cancer. 1/n

@TheBrysonLab @JustinTaylorLab can probably help you get in touch with the folks from the Spanier et al paper that was shared above. Justin and/or I have some of the tools to help but probably far easier done with Brian et al at UM.
