Irish famine
Bengali famine
Boar war concentration camps
Rhodesia
The Malayan emergency
And countless more.
The way the Union Flag has been normalised too as some sort of cute and edgy symbol, rather than representing a barbaric regime that killed millions of people 🤮
@Bren4Bassetlaw
So instead of just wishing g her a happy mother's day you've decided to use her for transphobic point scoring? Maybe log off for the day and spend some quality time with her instead
@Never_Again2020
Why did you crop out the actual antisemitism that Owen Jones is calling out? Surely an account that is meant to be against antisemitism would be joining him in calling it out not cropping it out to attack a left wing journalist in bad faith
@jkass99
But we had a heatwave in the 70s that was 5° lower and caused a fifth of all excess deaths that year and a much higher demand for emergency services so we should be fine...
@adiiiaf
My great-grandfather was born out of wedlock and when he and his mother emigrated to Canada a few months later she took a different surname to her maiden name whilst stating on the form that her husband was joining at a later date. However there is 0 evidence of any marriage

And what did the British government do in response to both famines? Did they try and help those suffering or did they still demand export quotas were still met meaning those suffering from famine had to give up what little food they had managed to produce? PH so because people

It maybe brilliantly passionate but it is false. We are not in a world war and advocating for it as well as the dangers of mutually assured destruction that it could entail is a dangerous path to begin walking down

-Not the only country to end slavery
- Thanks to The Grand Coalition
- We only defeated him because he threatened our own imperial ambition
- The USSR did more plus we were in a stalemate until the US turned up
- Left a lot of African countries worse off
- That was a Swiss guy

A combination of the Good Friday Agreement and Brexit. Due to the GFA there isn't meant to be a hard border between ROI and NI so a protocol in the Brexit agreement was hashed out that keeps puts NI in an odd place where it is neither in or out of the EU

The only time he has been "caught" breaking the law was when someone grabbed a picture from a wake of a personal friend of his. Also if we are going to blame people for their family maybe start with Johnson who's dad traveled to Greece and constantly refuses to wear a mask
@Never_Again2020
If you're going to instantly block me why bother even replying?
But because you did I'm going to reply here:
Owen didn't conflate the two. In fact he is pointing out it is antisemitic to do such a thing
@Jack_H2o
@AyoCaesar
Then why aren't you speaking this indigenous language instead of the language made up from French, Germanic and Scandinavian languages?
The comments undet this just shows people want to get angry with
@OwenJones84
even when he is literally saying the same thing they're complaining about
'Because we focus so much on cars, we don't focus on bus routes or trains.'
@OwenJones84
says people need to stop their dependency on cars and put pressure on the government to make things easier for people and improve public transport.

In early medieval Europe not early 20th century Europe. It is where the antisemitic trope about Jews controlling the banks originates from

Preforming a critique on how white male rage can lead to fascism is nothing like blackface. And rightly criticise him for that but there is no need to invent outrage over something that didn't happen

Were dying in Glasgow that makes it okay that people died in concentration camps during the Boer war? Also you think it is justifiable to use chemical weapons on those rebeling for independence in Malaysia? Did you hold the same stance when Assad used white phosphorus?
@StigTracey
@barilleon
No you're what's wrong with the game. Page 4 of the DMG literally says as DM you can interpret the rules and abide and change them when you want. That's not even getting onto the fact being unable to breathe doesn't mean you can't use verbal components

- Haiti was the first. Even the Greek constitution outlawed slavery a decade before we did
- I'll give you trafalgar as it did cement our navy superiority however waterloo wasn't a solely British battle.
- The German empire shelved plans for invading Britain long before WW1

I guess you missed the bit where he talks about being appalled by some members who were using antisemitic tropes or hurling antisemitic abuse and wanted a more robust independent disciplinary system plus education on what is an antisemitic trope?

They're not boycotting Israel though are they? They're just stopping sales in the illegal settlements. If Israel hadn't occupied those territories and built their illegal settlements there then there would be no withdrawing of sales

Why review the body cam footage as it is only half of the video anyway. By the looks of the original video the officer had made up his mind before turning it on. As when he was asked to turn the camera on he got out of the car saying well we will deal with this differently now

The oldest professional golfer was 73, the oldest player to play in a league match of football was 74. So does that make football not a sport either?

Kensington wasn't a failure of a broken electoral system though. You literally told people to vote lib dems because Labour were third when in reality Labour only lost by a couple of hundred votes
Am I to understand that someone has put my tweet that Jesus looked like me in a book, and then said I was being anti-Semitic...because I'm Muslim? Really? Is this a real thing?

Your own words were we are down to the bones in funding because of the previous leadership. I wouldn't say 11mil reserve was down to the bone funding especially since we were operating in the red pre 2015
“We are down to the bones of our funding & staffing, thru burning millions of pounds on legal cases, failed festivals and indulgence. Our job on the NEC is making sure the Labour Party is at a point where it has the money to run the best General Election campaign” -

It's not like an independant report came out only a few days ago that showed that the reason there was a problem with tackling it was due to a faction within the party purposely slowing down the process as a way to attack the leader

Was the British government's refusal to reduce export of food to England whilst also cutting off food relief to Ireland just a soundbite? Or the continued export of grain to feed the British Army at the height of a famine? Or the literal creation of concentration camps?
@Evripidous
@ArielElyseGold
You know antisemitism isn't a modern phenomenon? Just because something is also depicted that way in medieval folklore doesnt make it less antisemitic. In fact many of the antisemitic tropes we have today stem from the treatment of the Jewish population during the medieval period
@DrSwordopolis
@Hebrew_Mafia
@Ronnnnnnnyn
Yes for the early medieval period not early 20th Century. The idea that the Jewish community were in charge of the banks during the Weimar Republic is literal Nazi propaganda
@lukeakehurst
Israel has dropped the same amount of bombs as the US did in a year at the height of the Afghan war in only a week, shut off electricity, water and Internet as well as stopping food supplies from entering - this is not a proportionate response
