I’ve worshiped Stephen Fry for my entire adult life. To hear him conflate antiZionism with antisemitism has shocked me. To hear him show no care or support for the Palestinians & instead centre people in this country has broken me. Smashed windows vs carrying your dead child? 😡
Labour’s landslide victory in 1997 wasn’t a victory by me. I was 12. It was a victory for me. Fortunate to come of age under the best government for generations and delighted I was old enough to to vote for it in 2005. I was a year to young in 2001. Though I did deliver leaflets.

So despite two MPs being murdered in the last 6 years Owen Jones is encouraging people to harass and abuse an MP in the street. Indefensible. That’s not activism or protest that’s just incitement. Absolutely sick.
Corbyn’s Labour. Own it Owen Jones, Aaron Bastani and all you other weirdos. You did your best to destroy a political Party you hated. Thank you to Keir Starmer for making Labour credible again.
Jeremy Corbyn voted over 400 times against the last Labour govt. You are welcome to agree with his reasons on everyone. However that stat alone demonstrates he is unsuitable to be a Labour MP. That’s simply not what a Labour MP does. He’s never been loyal to anyone but himself
It really comes down to this. You either trust Keir Starmer and Labour to build a sensible progressive legal immigration system & sustainable NHS or you don't.
The absolute desperation to protect Johnson by Tory MPs and media outriders is odd really. Johnson wouldn’t cross the road for anyone but himself. He betrays everyone in the end to get through the next 48hrs. Why do they do it to themselves.
I think an underlying factor in why Labour lose elections is that we have a membership with some elements who would choose to boo the British national anthem or not sing it but will gleefully wave Palestinian flags. They kind of weirdness leaks into public consciousness.
Blair > Corbyn
Why?
Sure Start.
That’s it. Don’t need anything else. Just one achievement from Blair’s Labour government outstrips anything Corbyn has ever done.

This is why Starmer was right to avoid picket lines with Mick Lynch. Whilst good on trains Lynch’s extremist & repellent politics were always going to come out in the inevitable overreach. At least Labour leadership can distance themselves from such toxic views.

Says: “There were a lot of corrupt politicians in Ukraine…. there were an awful lot of people [in Ukraine] playing with Nazi imagery”

Labour's former director of policy under Jeremy Corbyn Andrew Fisher has a simple message for Keir Starmer.
Get off the fence, and nationalise energy to stop prices soaring.
Most people just want a bit more money in their bank accounts, an ambulance to turn up on time, a GP appointment/operation, schools to have money to teach their kids & a police force that keeps them safe. They don’t want ‘radical change’ that Labour members & Left demand
This is a direct threat and the police really should be stepping in on this account. Weird to only target Labour volunteers & that exposes this group’s true motivations. Canvassers are volunteers. Not elected officials. Generally just good, gentle people.

They will quickly see that many are not buying the sound bites and carefully crafted press releases.
All Labour door knockers had better buckle up, it’s going to get bumpy.
I started this account in 2018 and chose the name The Last Blairite because I felt I was the only person who liked & celebrated the achievements of the last Labour government. I also thought it sounded cool. Turns out I wasn’t the ‘last’ by a mile and that is cool.
This image is objectively hilarious and perfectly sums up the narcissism of Owen Jones & the now thankfully irrelevant & often repelling fringe Left. Proof that Owen Jones was never really Labour. I remained in Labour under Corbyn. The entryist project failed. Bye Owen.
As my name suggests I quite like Tony Blair. Despite winning 3 GEs and never losing one I accept that he probably has isn’t as popular with people as I think he should be. Corbyn lost twice yet his supporters remain convinced he’s loved by millions. It’s weird.
I’ve been a Labour member since I was in 18 in 2002
I’ve voted Labour in every single election I’ve been eligible to vote. Even when Corbyn was leader. If you voted for Corbyn as a member but ‘can’t vote for Starmer then you aren’t really Labour. Never were. Just a floating voter
There’s a reason both the Tories and extremist left hate Tony Blair. He made them both an irrelevance.
Blair built a country that worked & showed what Labour governments can do.

Owen Jones operates from a position of self acclaimed moral superiority. He’s overdosed on it. He believes he can behave how he likes with impunity and if he chooses to absolutely horrible it must be justified.
One of the most pleasing and definitely funny asides of Starmer’s Labour leadership is how he has completely ignored the Corbyn outriders like Owen Jones & Bastani. They thought they big important hitters & he’s left them shouting into the void.
Dear Labour MPs,
Today, don’t be dickheads. I know some of you love a big old elephant trap labelled virtue signal. For once, don’t walk into it. Being in government is hard. Time to prove we can do it. Everyone wants killing to stop. Understand how that’s actually achieved.

I think it’s because the Union flag is a unique design and therefore recognisable as the Union flag whatever. Like the Welsh flag it’s instantly recognisable. What Nike have done is just put a random multicoloured cross on an England shirt.
Fucking why? You total shower of dangerous bastards. What do Labour councillors in Luton have to do with Israel/Hamas war. This has nothing to do with suffering in Gaza. You lot are dangerous and the police need to step in.
Protestors challenge Labour councillors at Luton Council.
Labour have underestimated the strength of feeling amongst locals over the party’s stance on Gaza.
As a Labour member I don’t often tweet criticism of the Tories because it’s boring. I’m biased, don’t like them & fundamentally always have and do believe the country is better off with a Labour government. But fuck me this dying Conservative Party is gross. An abomination.
Monetising activism only comes from a position of opposition. The YouTubers and grifters who make a living from ‘socialism’ are facing an extinction level event for their grifts with a Labour government. For many like Owen Jones irrelevance is their future.

This is why withdrawing the Labour whip from Corbyn isn’t enough. Still associated with us. This type of view and it’s proxy support of Putin narratives cannot be compatible with Labour membership. Time to boot him out once and for all.
U.K. Labour MP
@jeremycorbyn
says there needs to be more momentum for a ceasefire in Ukraine and negotiations to end the war. "All wars end with some kind of peace conference. Let's jump to that stage."
Labour needs to stop attempting to talk to a group of people that doesn’t exist. Defining working class is impossible in the 21 Century. This is why we lose. We are talking into history. Voters have long evolved and we are standing still.
No Jeremy Corbyn was destroyed by his own weird and grotty behaviour. As someone campaigning for Labour during that time I saw it first hand & had explained to me on doorsteps across the Black Country. Like a car crash in slow motion.
It was never the economic stuff that was the issue with Corbyn or the Left. Whilst I don’t think nationalise everything or scrapping tuition fees is the answer I understood the intentions. It was always the weird foreign policy stuff that was the issue & the values it perverted.
You can like Jeremy Corbyn & you can agree with his actions & voting record. We disagree. That’s fine. The one thing you simply cannot argue is that a ‘great Labour MP’ voted against a Labour government over 400 times. Whatever his ‘reasons’.
Once the country understood Corbyn’s ‘odd’ foreign policy obsessions (and not just the ones that enabled Antisemitism) they rejected him comprehensively. The failure of the Labour Left to understand this simple truth is why they are rightly treated as bizarre extremists.
I see Young Labour are now against Labour acquiring Parliamentary seats. The organisation is completely unfit for purpose and its leadership unsuited for Labour membership.
I’m frequently critical of Andy Burnham but if he wants to stand as Labour candidate for Islington North (big safe Labour seat) then I would support that. Hugely.
Shopping at Waitrose is apparently bad now. You can shop at Waitrose but it’s apparently not consistent with the values of the Left. No wonder they keep losing. Rather than find support they spend more time ruling out people as not worthy to vote for them.
Owen Jones doesn’t just want a hung Parliament he needs one to keep himself relevant to stay employed. A Labour government finishes Jones for good. Last remaining scraps of credibility shot.
Imagine claiming to be of the Left, under 42 and getting angry because the best PM of your lifetime has been Knighted.
If you are of the Left and think Tony Blair wasn’t the best PM of your lifetime you are either arguing a Tory was or you personally adore Gordon Brown.
As a Labour member I’m furious that
@RichardBurgon
has ever been allowed near our Party. Withdraw the whip because this bloke simply isn’t Labour. If we’d have won in 2019 this person would have been in govt. We lost badly & deserved to. You can’t expect people to vote for that,
Controversial opinion but as a lifelong Labour member (since I was 18, now 37) I like to talk about the good things Labour did in government and defend our record.
Still amazed at the geniuses in Team Corbyn that felt the best way to persuade people to vote Labour & make the lasting image of Conference 18 was everyone waving Palestinian flags. Especially when so many object to the UK flag. It was weird but they all felt so righteous.
I didn’t vote for Starmer I voted Nandy but I don’t give a stuff about his pledges. They were nonsense then and nonsense now. Fortunately for Labour Starmer has grown into a good solid leader and hopefully continues to improve further.
Just announced:
@Keir_Starmer
will deliver a keynote speech at

conference, drawing on his 5 missions for Britain.
He will also join Tony Blair for a special conversation to discuss his vision for the future.
Register to watch live:
Starmer knows one simple truth. Labour cannot do anything from opposition. Labour has to win. This means not committing to anything where the funding cannot be demonstrated. Starmer also wants more than one term. Labour will be judged by their record in government.
People like Adam called me a Tory and told me to ‘get out of Labour’. I didn’t. I voted and campaigned for Labour in 2019. Glad the vandalism of the Corbyn era has been repaired & we once again have a Party to be proud of.
4 years ago I voted labour. Now I’ll be voting Green.
You did change the Labour Party - not for the better, but to take it from a party that cared about the many, & now focuses on the few.
You are now a party that offers no opposition & is barely distinguishable from the Tories
Corbyn doing Corbyn things. Let’s get the new Labour candidate announced for Islington North and consign this grotty old weirdo to the footnote in history he is.

This is an underrated value and a quality that Starmer has in abundance. Can the rest of the Labour Party catch up?
Leader’s of Parties come and go. I stayed in and campaigned for Labour under Corbyn despite my loathing of the Leader because I believe in Labour governments. I put myself 2nd. For the now fringe Left, politics is all about themselves & performative nonsense.
The Labour party is in my blood. Here’s why I’ve just cancelled my membership.

you can feel the emotion, sending solidarity as it’s not easy leaving a party which was a big part of your life for so long 💛
When Labour lost in 2019 with our worst defeat since 1935 the idea that we might win the next election seemed ridiculous. Yet here we are. Oh and Starmer is rubbish at politics/boring/whatever. Apparently.
@CorbynistaTeen
Having been a Labour member since 2002 and despite huge reservations about Corbyn's suitability to be PM, I still had no issues with voting for my own Party in both 2017 and 2019.
Owen Jones feels he is not a bully because he believes in his own moral superiority. He thinks he can behave with impunity because his targets deserve it.

To claim that Jeremy Corbyn was unfairly maligned in 2019 is to completely ignore the very real Antisemitism he mainlined into Labour and the need for the EHRC investigation.
Look Corbyn was crap. By every metric. He lost 2 General Elections as Labour leader and enabled Antisemitism to the point we were investigated by the EHRC. Why pretend anything else?
Quite incredible seeing a 94-year-old get a seasoned broadcaster in a flap simply by saying the one thing that's unsayable in most of the media: that the people wanted Jeremy Corbyn but the establishment did not.
The last thing we need is Keir Starmer encouraging the 'I want to see a white doctor' brigade. What was he thinking of with this utterly irresponsible comment? I am appalled
If Owen Jones were French he’d be doing giggly interviews with Le Pen right now. And when he says ‘he wouldn’t’ it’s worth pointing out that’s exactly what he did with George Galloway.
