Clarification Trump specifically said pharma was not in the deal but VDL said it was, at 15% rate. But whatever Trump decides at a later date is on a "separate sheet of paper". Also there is a quota for tariffs on steel just like UK, she said. But UK still waiting for deal. ???.

Looks like a lot of confusion. No text shared with journalists outside the EU pool. VDL says pharma IS included in the deal at 15% but that whatever Trump does outside of that is "on a separate sheet of paper". ie: no guarantees. Looks like zero tariff for agrifood.

The US-EU deal will greeted with the utmost sensitivity in Ireland, not just because pharma is still not out of the woods, but because it creates a differential in trading rates between Northern Ireland (10% as part of UK deal) and Republic of Ireland (15% as part of EU).
