Shopping at Countdown in Auckland. Just load up your trolleys, put them in the car, and you don't need to pay. Apparently daily occurrence. It's like SF here #nzpol

The most disgusting thing going on in NZ right now is signs on playgrounds asking citizens to call the police on "non-compliant" children. But you can fix this with some number 8 wire ingenuity. #covid19nz #nzpol

@NZStuff No journalist should be attacked or abused. But the article would have been more balanced if it had provided some background on why people feel this way. Is it because journalists routinely belittle the little people? Don't inform? What do these people think?.

@tyler Actually not true. The Greeks even proved it was round. The fact wasn't questioned until an atheist in the 19th century invented the myth people believed in a flat earth. Basically nobody believed in flat earth. Top 1 historical myth.

@afneil It's an engineering question in end Neil. And trust me, people have thought about that. Using wind and solar allows you to use your other options only when needed. And nuclear is a terrible backup.

@danielneljack People on minimum wage already pay no tax, they cost the taxpayer money. Can only give tax cuts to those who pay tax.

@nickofnz if you look at deaths per capita, we're worse than a lot of countries (now in the top 50%), and close to Norway and The Netherlands. Based on their per capita rates, there is no way 12,000 lives saved is a real world number.

1. This obviously stirred up a lot of comments. I'm glad SST v2 will stick around, and we'll keep using that. I'll address some of @jayair's concerns in this thread. First, we use SST for live lambda development. Fantastic.
It's time to make it official. SST is moving away from CDK and CloudFormation. I wrote a really long post (linked below) detailing our thought process around it. Let me highlight a few things from it here.

@ProfGThurston Your personal observation sounds just as valid as the quite a few people I know who haven't had Covid, never wore a mask, didn't get a shot, and didn't care. Neither is a scientific observation, and it's sad you're making this into one.

Speaker of the house has so little to do he can run errands for his entire electorate.
Omicron is coming and when it arrives it will spread quickly. If you can afford it it will pay to stock up a bit. There will be thousands of close contacts a day. If I’m not one of them I will be happy to do grocery and medicine runs for Wainuiomata people.

@EricTopol LOL, maybe delete this tweet, we don't want to live in a world where public health experts get to decide masks don't work, then work as a pore size 5,000 bigger than the virus will magically stop it. Advice is great, forcing people to do dumb things is worth a judicial review.

@MariaSherwood2 Yeah, let's introduce a tax on unrealised capital gains. Your house value increases? Bang, you pay more tax that year. That'll be totally popular. And incidentally also the reason why Labour wont be making any tax changes.

@ClintVSmith You only know Luxon has five rental properties, because he had declared this. You didn't know Wood has Airport shares. Look, I wish we were in a NZ where having airport shares would be applauded, and rental properties wouldn't be a good investment, but that's not the issue.
