Guess I was just psyopped into the months of severe pain caused by the increase in relaxin, the months of nausea, the extreme fatigue, and then uncontrollable screaming between puking during the actual birth, not to mention the 20+ stitches in my vaginal canal. Psyopped.

I think she is autistic (I don’t mean this as an insult) and because of that she can’t relate to women the way neurotypical women do, making it impossible to truly be a mean girl. She can’t be catty bc she’s not a cat, so she has to appeal to the dogs (now insult intended).

I personally know several moms who don’t want to breastfeed and chose not to even though they had the option, just due to preference, not because they couldn’t. These women should be encouraged to do it for their kids.

A lifetime of shame and fear and stress (initiated by my father) about cleaning has made me into a person who chronically struggles with keeping house.
Deeply embarrassing, but exactly why my approach for good habits with my kids will be love and happiness based.
Shaming people for negative compulsive habits doesn't work because feelings of shame are what people develop negative compulsive habits to avoid.
Increasing those feelings just drives people deeper into the problem.

I will still encourage them because I hope their kids (and they themselves) will get to receive the benefits of breastfeeding. These women are my friends and don’t take my word as offensive. Breast milk is better but I hope formula can be improved for mothers who cannot bf.

Definitely nurse/feed the baby a bottle during ascent and descent. Talk with your kids about it before hand so they know what is expected of them. Plan to have things to talk about with them on the plane, bring novel activities. Maybe a reward system? I hope it goes well!
