One year ago today we welcomed our sweet baby girl, never expecting that she would not still be here with us on her first birthday. I’m glad I was oblivious to how it all would go down. I was already scared enough as it was.

Ultrasound did not go as expected. There is something wrong with our baby’s heart but they do not know what. I am waiting to get into a fetal cardiologist to make a firm diagnosis and identify next steps. Please if you can spare a prayer for us, we could really use it.

Our sweet baby girl is home with Jesus now and we are absolutely shattered.
She’s still here with us, thank God. Compared to 1.5 weeks ago, this alone is a miracle. Waiting to see where she lands. It’s all up to her to tell us if or when it’s time to go… still holding out hope for more miracles, but it’s in God’s hands. Thanks for the prayers!.

Baby girl has a Complete Atrioventricular Canal Defect. She will require a series of heart surgeries in her first year or so. While this is not exactly the news I wanted to hear, I am so grateful for medical technology and that this is likely a survivable condition. Thank God.

We were offered abortion after our 20 week scan showed a severe cardiac anomaly. But everything we went through was worth it for the 6.5 months we got with our daughter. I would do it all over again. Because life, even if it is short, is fundamentally good and worthwhile.
I don’t need to imagine. We did it. It IS possible to carry babies with a life limiting diagnosis. I’m able to sleep at night knowing they died in peace, holding each other.
