My grandparents bought their 5 bedroom 2 bath house with formal dining room and two living rooms and a grand staircase and massive porch for $9,500. It sold for $1.6 million last I checked.
@carolinecwilder @luinalaska While I fully agree with the sentiment, you have to adjust for comparable home size to be accurate. New homes are substantially larger now so it’s not apples to apples. Compare the price of a 1200 sq ft home then to now to get an accurate measure of affordability.

Buying my book thinking it’s full of Catholic grandma laundry advice and then you hit the chapter about how I want to fist fight you in a walmart parking lot if you have a medical license and ever told a minor to chop off their own d*** to feel less sad even once.
