This.Just this. I deal with a lot of elderly people with memory issues.A yr waiting list to be seen now.During which time they decline further +it's another 12 months without meds as we can't prescribe without psychiatric assessment.Strain on individuals and families is immense

I worked with him for 3 years in HIV/HEP MDTs and i know if i was his patient i would've felt respected +understood.He was so clever+giving

It's so hard.Remember my 1st one in 1982 as student nurse, I remember his full name and had washed and chatted to him an hour before. He didn't survive. LOcked myself in my room in halls all night I was so upset . We had no debriefing. I hope you have support,this stuff is tough

I have cried with dying patients as a nurse. Many times in 30 years .

I had one of the shittest weeks of my life last week. Lost sight of who I was. Got sent this card, so woke up last Monday determined this week would be better. Ran 71 miles, saw a lot of nature. I survived a not quite as shit week. Legs barely speaking to me but that's ok.

I got to welcome people back to racing with Saltaire Striders.
Our Bradford Millennium Way relay happened, so lovely to see so many happy runners. 65 teams ran and all on a glorious sunny day

Explain my role as "nurse by trade+have done extra training so I can do things like assess diagnose and prescribe" but I always tell pts they can see a Dr+ that I ask for medical advice if not sure.We're dutybound to tell patients our role

So...Loads of people who work in sexual health are expert contact tracers. I did it for 20 years, I trained people in how to do it. I know my stuff.Applied to test and trace for some hours,was told I don't have enough experience.But yes sexual health staff could sort this out

I would suggest the nurse was inexperienced at both sexual health matters and communicating with colleagues. 20 yrs nursing in sexual health you have to adjust language to the individual or they dont understand you or relate to you /trust you as a professional

no , as a runner I would expect to give way. We are the ones with more power if there is a collision so onus is on us to be safe. Assuming walkers should move is what gives runners a bad reputation particularly at the beginning of Covid when we thought outspread spread was a risk

So, today we got to see my Mum and stepdad for the first time since Dec 2019. We did Christmas 2020, she has kept the tree up waiting for us to go. There were huge teary hugs.

Neice stable after 9 hrs surgery.2021 has taught me that life as you know it can change, then it's not how you know it. Love,do your best,say sorry often,don't bear grudges +keep an open heart.Nothing is is precious.
