We’re delivering $10-a-day child care across Canada – making it easier for more women to return to the workforce and fully participate in our economy.
Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives would cut our progress.
The classroom is a cluttered mess, overtly-political posters coat the walls (political in only one direction of course, so we know this isn't about "critical thinking"); there's even a poster that says sex work is just like normal work.
And CTV is running defence for this?
Here’s the

I’m tempted to laugh this off and/or make a sarcastic comment, but honestly, what an utter tragedy that this is the state of our mainstream “news” right now.
I know it’s not surprising in the least, but somehow I…
Social justice scholars at Western University recently made a 90-page "toolkit" to help teachers integrate gender ideology into the classroom. It's loaded with inaccuracies about history and biology, but it's being circulated to teachers anyway. My column:
As Hawaiians wake up to the news of Palestinian anticolonial resistance in Gaza to Israeli settler colonialism, remember that—from Hawaiʻi to Palestine—occupation is a crime. A lāhui that stands for decolonization and deoccupation should also stand behind freedom for Palestine.
The Conservative Party just passed a policy to bully & scare some of the most vulnerable young people in our society.
Yet another example of Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives trying to import far-right American-style politics to Canada. Not on our watch.
DEI training is just ideological preaching, and the case in question was basically a struggle session.
Workers’ compensation board determined it was bullying/harassment and TDSB didn’t dispute that finding.
Sorry, are white women not supposed to write about this?
As a white woman reporting this, I genuinely want to know your intention in writing this piece. What are you insinuating about anti racism work in Canada Jamie?
Two weeks ago, I wrote a column about Richard Bilkszto, a former TDSB principal who sued the school board after he was harassed in a DEI training session.
He passed last week. I'm shocked. What a tragic loss. My heart goes out to his loved ones.
You know, if I lived in Ontario, I'd be pretty frustrated that the (conservative) education minister is content with his schools promoting racial hierarchies and teaching contempt for Canadian heritage
Behold the 44-page

Main takeaway: “Education is a colonial structure that centres whiteness.”
Three of the four authors are experts in Hip Hop. One specializes in “Hip Hop as Critical Relevant Responsive Pedagogy”
Gender identity can be a hard thing to talk about, especially when you are involved. But this conversation is extremely important and parental involvement is critical. Kids need to know we love and support them.
My message to all Albertans:

Okay, so she didn't call him a white supremacist or a resistor. She just said he upheld, protected, reproduced, upkept, and defended white supremacy by resisting. Totally different, right?
1. "WSIB's finding of bullying and harassment isn't credible"
It is. WSIB had to determine whether the injury that took Mr. Bilkszto away from work was connected to said work (was it workplace bullying?). WSIB concluded yes -> claim approved. No need to interview KOJO.
This article is by Fae Johnstone, an activist for all things gender whose organization has received >$1 million in grants and work contracts from the federal government.

: Concern about queer rights under a Poilievre-led government keeps me up at night.
As prime minister, would he stand up for 2SLGBTQIA+ people? Or would he bargain away our rights and equality to appease his social conservative base?
5. The column runs the defence of "it's supposed to make you feel uncomfortable" which doesn't negate the bullying.
If anything, if the trainer really did intend from the outset to make people feel bad, it makes it easier to reason that it was an instance of bullying
His party has funnelled copious amounts of public dollars into interest groups specifically geared at spreading the good word of gender ideology and entrenching it in Canadian law, and now he's complaining that this is a political issue.
Trans kids aren’t supposed to be part of your political strategy.
They’re not supposed to be lightning rods for fundraisers or rallies.
Trans kids are kids. They’re human-beings.
A new book weeding process in an Ontario school board was intended to ensure school library books are inclusive.
It appears to have led some schools to remove thousands of books published in 2008 or earlier.
WSIB's finding of bullying and harassment was based on: a medical diagnosis of anxiety secondary to traumatic workplace events, his own recollection of events, accounts of colleagues who were there -- and the fact that TDSB could have disputed the allegations, but chose not to.
It’s one thing for Trudeau to say this (flawed thinking but he’s entitled to it), but it’s unbecoming of the Supreme Court to openly advocate for affirmative action and identity-based appointments.
Monogamy is one of the oldest, most deeply engrained features of our civilization for good reason. It's the safest for raising kids, it insulates women from being collected like property, etc.
Polygamy isn't, and shouldn't be, legitimized by law because it's deeply maladaptive.
As polyamory gains wider acceptance, having multiple partners is still far from a legal right.
Our latest longread looks at the rise of polyamory and talks to Canadians who are loving more than one person:
This is an example of astroturfing. Use public funds to support the cultivation of ideas on your political "side" and lobby you to make the changes you already want to make. They'll even investigate your ideological opponents.
(Also, if WSIB decisions aren't credible, then why is Ontario using it?! About $2.5 billion is paid out per year, so if the system is so bad that the decisions aren't worth giving weight to, there is a serious problem here)
WSIB's finding of bullying and harassment was based on the speaker's *repeated* reference back to the exchange and the context in which it occurred (in front of colleagues/superiors), over 2 sessions. The WSIB decision-maker summarized it here:
In the spring of 2022, Canadian Heritage conducted a public feedback survey to inform their approach to future anti-hate legislation.
That survey was tweaked to keep political dissenters from giving full feedback. Full story in the

The last time the military “reflected” Canadian demographics was likely during WW2. The primary recruiting pool since then has been rural/small city-based, high school educated, working class white men. Alienating this group is unwise. My column:
She says it like “bias” is a problem here. Hardly. Westerners should ally with other Westerners who have similar values, and not Islamist “anti-colonial” movements that use rape as a tool of war and terror.
A Stephen Harper tweet was the latest reminder of the depth of Western bias on Israel-Palestine.
There is so much mutual pain in the region that to ignore the underlying conditions of violence is to create conditions that lead to violence.

Canada only criminalized "conversion therapy" for gender in one direction. It's perfectly legal to condition a non-transgender-identifying youth into thinking they are in fact trans.
And yet, the minister responsible for the Criminal Code now whines of "misguided" policy in AB.

Yes, it was a brief initial exchange. However, WSIB's finding of bullying and harassment was based on more than just the initial exchange (see next tweet)
As a former distance runner, this hits close to home.
When I ran cross-country, the ladies and the men started at the same time but the guys finished way before us. Without sex-segregated competition, we wouldn't stand a chance. It's a matter of basic fairness.

The theory behind lenient race-based sentencing is that it benefits a community, but in practice it deprives them of justice — while undermining the fairness of the system for everyone.
I covered a recent decision by the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal:
Alberta Health Services has a whole DEI bureaucracy. I imagine it quietly grew over the years and no one wanted to say "no" to each new addition.
In this chart:
-"DEI practitioners"
-workforce resource groups (clubs for equity seeking groups)
-various DEI committees
Healthcare reform idea: shut down all DEI departments at public institutions, use that money to fund training of more nurses and doctors.
Also, fund scholarships for doctors and nurse practitioners willing to sign 5-year contacts to work in rural Alberta.
In total, this organization has received at least $1,220,085 in grants from the feds to date (this figure doesn't appear to include SSHRC grants, which they've also received):
