Steven has been both a friend and a colleague for the past 7 years. I knocked on doors with him in 2019 and became friends with a highly principled man who loves his constituents and his country. Wishing him all the best, and look forward to continuing our work together.

The Conservatives are currently obstructing the Justice Committee to prevent it from advancing laws to address hate crimes in this country. We need to take action to combat hate. It is disappointing, but not surprising, to see them turn this important Bill into a partisan game.

“This bill must benefit from cross-party consensus.” We’re asking for all parties to collaborate to get Bill C-9, the Combatting Hate Act, through the committee process, and let the House vote. Canadians are asking for this. Let’s work together and get it done.
Bill C-9’s introduction in September recognized the urgency of addressing rising threats to Jewish Canadians and other vulnerable communities. Today, our CEO @nshack urged all Party Leaders to work together on targeted amendments that strengthen cross-party consensus and

My analysis was limited by the paywall.
Marc Miller is right, but it’s not the only flaw in the Flanagan argument, which fundamentally ignores all the realities of the brutal moment of contact and its consequences over several hundred years. As Cohen puts it in a song “do not stoop to strategies like this”.
