Thanks to #bailreform , we are now at an all-time low in terms of numbers of clients held in jail pre-trial. As of Jan 2, NYCDS had only 185 clients in pre-trial detention, compared to 301 in July. This is a 38% decrease in the number of clients on #Rikers in the past 6 months.

No public defender should have to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. This is not just unfair to staff & clients, but is a constitutional crisis of the city's own making. . @NYCMayor - it's not too late to fully fund public defense in the budget!
