It's division or multiplication from left to right
addition or subtraction from left to right
they are on the same level
So: 8/2(2+2) = 8/2(4) = 4(4) = 16

Are you insane? Cattle are sustainable and keep land green space. If you take cattle away from ranches the land will be sold and it will be developed for housing. Not pro-planet at all.

This. Being in a wheelchair doesn't mean you can't move your legs. Or even stand up and walk. It means you can't stand and walk as much as other people can.

Common Misconceptions
Many students learn the order of operations using PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division…) as a memory aid. This very often leads to the misconception that multiplication comes before division and that addition comes before subtraction.…

Atty Gen Barr has far more patience than I. I would have walked out on them. Jackson-Lee and Johnson "taking back their time" because they weren't getting the "answers" they wanted. It was a clown show.
@ChefReactions
That is so disgusting. None of those things cook at the same time or temperature. Especially poultry, canned vegetables, and powdered potatoes.
Giblets lady, giblets.
I'm doing all my sides today because I have to pick Hubs up from the airport at midnight. Pies done yesterday.

Why is there the presumption that "unvaccinated" equals "contagious" when "vaccinated" has a pretty good chance of being "contagious"? And those that are vaccinated are more likely to be out and about while contagious because they feel "safer" because they ARE vaccinated.
@PolitiBunny
US Surgeon General said on TV today that the N95s are 75 times better than the cloth masks. Well, since the cloth masks are zero and 75 x 0 is still 0, then they're Zero.

When our Loki was smol he kept finding himself inside the sofabed. He'd get inside from underneath and couldn't find his way out. We'd have to open it slightly to allow him egress.

Insanity. Even as the vax loses efficacy and no one takes natural immunity into account they double down on the vax. They are SO invested in the vax as THE solution. The one and only solution.

Teachers' Unions don't care about teachers either. They want dues and clout and contracts that give them clout and dues. They don't care about the teachers or the children.

We call it the Cheese Curtain. I lived there most of my life. My aunt (may she RIP) lived not far from there and would have been terrified had she still been alive. She had a small cafe 2 blocks from the car lot. It's a gift shop now. We moved 2-1/2 years ago to SE TN.

Already moved to Tennessee. Beautiful Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. No Income Tax. No state mask mandate. 3 hours from Nashville and Atlanta. I'm 45 minutes from Chattanooga and Knoxville. 5 acres. 1/3 the property tax of Northern IL on a postage stamp lot.

I'm so sorry. 14 was a loonnng time ago for me and I remember feeling that way sometimes, that I'd like to hide away, but these stupid masks, enabling it, exacerbating depressive behavior... It has to STOP.
If you don't have a fever, don't have shortness of breath (SPO2 readers are at pharmacies everywhere), just have cold symptoms, stay out of the emergency rooms. Call your Primary Care doctor. Talk to the nurse there. Take cold medicine.
@Leftylockdowns1
And there are still so many people who are convinced that covid is a death sentence. Period. Except that 13% of the population has tested positive. 1.6% of those have died. >600K die of heart disease annually. 600K die of cancer annually. All are tragic, but all happen.
@conservmillen
In Iceland your surname is your father's Christian name and son or dottir depending. So I would be Kim Johnsdottir and any brothers would Johnsson. If I had a brother John he would be John Johnsson. His son John would be John Johnnson. The names can run in families.

Have you always worn a mask? Even pre-Covid? Because of your immuno-suppressed child? To protect him from flu, regular colds, RSV, other communicable diseases? Do you wash down when you get home? Wear a Tyvek outfit to see him?

That's what was done. 2 + 2 was added to be 4. Then 8 was divided by 2 (next order of operations left to right) to get 4, then 4 was multiplied by 4 (that was the sum produced in the parentheses), and the product is 16.

You are aware that entry-level fast-food positions are not meant to be careers? These are the positions that were once held by kids still in high school, moms while their kids were in school, and retirees for extra money? No one held these positions as a sole source of income.
@SethAMandel
The fake "hate crimes" ought to be treated as if they were the "hate crimes" themselves. Because in a way they were. Just not in the way portrayed. Instead of being a "racist homophobic" attack against one, it's an attack against a whole group regardless of their sexuality /1

The ADA requires **reasonable** accommodation which does NOT require that all other employees must be hindered. Reasonable would be that you wear a mask or, if you feel that isn't enough, you take part remotely.

And you can make it time-sensitive too. Say five or ten minutes. So you can make spelling/grammar edits but not go back and weeks/months/years later and pretend you said the opposite of what you actually said. Or something.

They're all so invested in the "solutions" being "right" and the fact that they aren't, that they've all been wrong for 2 years going on three now is just too much to handle for many. So they hunker in and double down.

That's all over the Wapo comment section on the story. "Have to wear my mask because the 'anti-vaxxers' will lie and don't wear masks anyway and I'll die" But if your mask or vaccine worked, why do you care?

And if you tell people that actually having covid isn't a death sentence, that MOST people don't have bad symptoms or lasting effects, that natural immunity is good... You're a monster who wants to kill people.

@GovRonDeSantis
Countrywide there hasn't been much change pre- and post-vaccine. Still around 13% "cases" and 1.6% of the cases dead. Less than 1/4 of 1% of the population. Vaccines and mask mandates have made no difference.
@justin_hart
In three weeks' time, we'll be at the one-year anniversary of the "two-weeks to slow the spread" initial lockdown.
I've rarely worn a mask in all that time (only when absolutely required). I've been out and about. I'm 58 and overweight. I've not gotten sick. In a years' time.
