This is what they never told us! It's so liberating, calm and the perfect setup for writers. People sometimes ask how do you do it, I'm like, how do you not?!
A windswept look after a lovely day in town signing copies of The Lost Bookshop in Easons Galway - restocked after selling out! Charlie Byrne's also sold out but more on order... Woohoo!! 🥳🎉
Honestly cannot tell you how rewarding this feels. No. 1 in literary fiction! I worked so hard on this story, two years of research (which actually didn't feel like work at all really cos, books!) And belief - the most important ingredient they never tell you about.

That's the happiest painting! 3 little girls on my street had a raffle for the local pet rescue a few years ago and I won a packet of biscuits 😁 Little women are amazing 👏
What a special moment this is! So excited and proud that The Lost Bookshop has been shortlisted alongside these amazing books!

Read a tweet that it might be a good idea to contact other governments (esp Italy) and ask them what they would have done differently 3 weeks ago, what steps they wish they'd taken sooner and learn from that.
"This book will be adored by book lovers everywhere, particularly if you like a bit of mystery and magical realism thrown in."
Thank you Annie for the wonderful review! So glad you enjoyed it 💚

Such a worthy idea, you should really give yourself a big pat on the back. One or two actually write some pretty decent female protagonists

Fantastic interview, Rory. Not sure I've ever heard anyone explain the cause and effect of the govs policies, or how it can be remedied with such searing clarity (and you're right, they don't care) 👏
BREAKING NEWS:
Scientists have discovered a massive detached coral reef off the coast of Australia.
It's more than 500m in height — taller than Empire State building or the Malaysia's Petronas Towers.
It's the first time in 120 years anyone has made such a discovery.
The Lost Bookshop casually stalking Graham Norton at No. 2 in the Kindle store for the last few days 🤩 So happy - thanks you to everyone for the lovely messages, reviews and spreading the word. It's all so V much appreciated 💚
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Over 2,000 ratings, still No.1 on Kindle and Amazon charts, The Lost Bookshop has had an amazing beginning, where will the story lead?! To all of the readers who have picked up this book and shared the love, TY💚
So thrilled that Galway Library Book Clubs chose THE LOST BOOKSHOP as their book of the month ✨ If you're around on Thursday morning, pop into

for a special screening of my chat with Caroline, Executive librarian.
I know it's a bit boring when authors share 'glowing' reviews of their books, but seriously, this one has stopped me in my tracks tody. Nothing can validate your work like a satisfied reader, and make you glad you kept writing. This is what it's all about 😀

A mouse has been captured tidying up bits and bobs in a pensioner's shed.
Stephen McKears from Gloucestershire says he couldn't understand how small metal items were returning to their box every night.
So he set up a special night-time camera to find out 🐭 📹

This!!! It's pretty clear local councils have failed/are failing to implement any of the necessary infrastructure to make commuting safer for all road users. The 11th hour U-turn by Galway councillors on the Salthill cycle path is a case in point

They should have set up a national office to spend that money, there is no consistency across the country in how the infrastructure is developed and in some cases the money is simply being used to resurface footpaths unnecessarily
@deric_tv
What is it with Ireland and 'viewing platforms'?! Like, we want to be 'in' nature, not looking at it from 18million euro worth of concrete. Same in Galway with our concrete tidal pool that for some reason cannot be reopened. GIVE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT dammit god I give up
Book bloggers are an integral part of the book industry and they don't get the credit they deserve (yet never ask for). As an indie author, I honestly don't know how I would go about promoting/creating buzz/getting reviews without these enthusiastic, dedicated people 👏👏👏
Having some conversations recently about the Feels behind book reviewing and blogging.
The toll it takes. The work that goes into it. What we get in return. Whether it's all worth it.
And so, a thread:

Kind of stunned by this -
#TheStoryCollector
is No.1 in Contemporary Lit! Which means a lot because my novel is both historical & contemporary, notoriously difficult to categorise. So again, thank you readers, I'll never tire of seeing that yellow banner!
