RIP Dorothy Allison. I taught with her at @Tin_House & she was full of warmth and ferocity - w/ a Janis Joplin howl to her voice. '"Fiction never exceeds the reach of the writer's courage. The best fiction comes from the place where the terror hides, the edge of our worst stuff."

“Oh...the pain of the sleeplessness, or the pain of the fear of sleep, & with such unknown horror as it has for me! How blessed are some people, whose lives have no fears, no dreads; to whom sleep is a blessing that comes nightly, and brings nothing but sweet dreams.” Bram Stoker

Remembering Leonard Cohen who died on this day 2016. "The only moment that you can live here comfortably in these absolutely irreconcilable conflicts is in this moment when you embrace it all and you say 'Look, I don't understand a fucking thing at all - Hallelujah!"

Working on 'Waiting For Godot' right now makes this hit all the harder. This morning I couldn't eat for fear of being ill. Over our two-show day, a show about resilience, I was reminded of the reasons we go on. #WaitingForGodot #theatre #SamuelBeckett
