@BBCDomC @TheCriminalBar Really hope the government don't try the "fatcat lawyers being greedy" narrative on this. If they're working Legal Aid, they're probably getting below minimum wage per hour and are very much vocational. A functional justice system needs good lawyers on both sides.

@henrymance Point of order, the maximum unleaden weight of a current Defender is around 2.7 tonnes. You could easily kill a child in a Citroen C1 weighing a third of that. Not sure you can blame the choice of vehicle for this sad incident.

@EliotHiggins In June '18 Musk called one of the Thai rescuers a 'pedo guy', possibly in a fit of pique having been snubbed when offering to help. At that time Tesla was worth around $40bn. Now it's worth an additional $300bn. He's always behaved this way, just his profile now is huge.

@DPJHodges A no-fly zone would almost certainly create an armed conflict between NATO and Russia. I'm not sure comparing pre-nuclear appeasement with avoiding a war against an unstable nuclear power is wise.

He certainly didn't get a knighthood on merit, rather he knows information and likely blackmails to further his own interests.

A race director broke rules he wasn't entitled to, directly causing an otherwise impossible outcome. It doesn't matter who you support, all are at risk if rules can be arbitrarily broken.

@AllisonPearson Local one; our kids' primary school has a one-way system in the playground and staggered collection times, meaning 20 minute gap between siblings twice a day. We hang around for twice as long as we otherwise would, chatting amongst ourselves!

@MartinSLewis Like you I prefer being stood up and moving around when on the phone. I found myself feeling unhealthy last summer. Dropped booze, walked at least 4.5 miles a day and minimised carb intake. Lost 2 stone (13 to 11) in about 12 weeks. Felt much better.

@WheelsandSticks @F1 Drive to Survive and F1 marketing gave people a false impression of the sport. The reality behind the glitz is 1.5-2hrs of tactical battle and watching drivers preserve tyres. For 90% of people it's downright boring. In the meantime F1 has ignored its core fans.

@afneil I suspect a proportion of gay adolecents go through a period of anguish and difficulty understanding and accepting who they are. Actively promoting gender dysphoria to kids during this period may be dangerous if it leads to them making permanent changes they later regret.

@BallouxFrancois For me, one of the worst things is that we missed opportunity to discuss how important good general health is and instead we blame the unvaccinated. If you're massively overweight or unfit, the lesson is work on it to protect yourself.

@peterwalker99 @LucyGoBag There's a lot of unwarranted snobbiness about Wetherspoons. They offer a generally consistent, decent product at a reasonable price in comfortable surroundings. They even keep you fit by making the toilets a 10 minute walk away. Want to pay more for the same? Be my guest!

@LucyGoBag Many people in my circle of friends are healthy in their 50s and 60s and convinced Covid is a death sentence. They believe CFR is 20-30% across the board. We've been misled by government and supporting media to such an extent society has been harmed.
