Interesting that people are replying "it doesn't mean coherent, it means X" for various X. This shows that "sane" wasn't specific enough to be useful anyway.

I see thousands of people who don't meet those descriptions, other than a couple of guys who *shockingly* have beards I guess. Why is it so important to mischaracterize instead of engaging honestly?
@Glinner
Did this really seem logical when you wrote it? This approach of misleading and mocking does not resemble intellectual honesty.
#thanksgraham
for energizing us to confront ignorant bad-faith attacks, and support kids instead.

We engage constantly, only to be called misogynist and groomer, have all research ignored, science denied. But we continue to engage.

I know at least a dozen trans people and none oversimplify, deny science, use stereotypes, or pressure anyone. Janice & friends just seem hostile to my friends.
@Glinner
That's weird because I can see thousands of people telling you to stop picking on kids who don't meet any of those descriptions at all. What's with the constant need to lie?
@BrawnSurgeon

The relationship between social reception of performances and day to day life was the topic of Jay's previous tweets in the thread, so it seems weird for you to pretend they don't exist to double down on the non-sequitur name-calling.

Do you think maybe their choices might be constrained by circumstance, which is why we need coordinated policy like *not expanding coal production*?

That's good news. Thank you for saying "disgraced" instead of "controversial" this time. We should know exactly what neo-nazis do; may there be no more controversy about that.

Puberty blockers absolutely are given to cis kids, for precocious puberty. Chest reduction is easier to get for cis people too, whether clinical or cosmetic.

Are you suggesting she should have actively made sure nobody was trans so that she could switch to less inclusive language? Why go to that effort?

He didn't turn out to be correct. COVID has killed, and is continuing to kill, millions of people. There is absolutely no basis for claiming isolation, masks, or vaccines are somehow "worse"

US health, education, and mass media are all owned by billionaires, running them for profit, with lobbyists in Washington, and consistently more support from R legislators than D. That's the establishment.

You are slipping into reputation protection thinking, and losing perspective. The Christian community is lucky to have *any* reputation left

Because JKR consistently misrepresents what trans people actually say. Throwing bad-faith straw arguments around makes it harder for everyone to find common ground; it's a hostile tactic.

Teachers' workload went up during the pandemic, not down. Teaching on zoom & in classrooms for kids of essential workers, preparing resources & assessment, marking, checking in with parents, etc.

Nothing in that story suggests that anyone misinterpreted trauma, nor that she was pressured, nor that it was any more rapid than about half a decade. We should do what we can to prevent regret, but it's a reality that people change their minds.

People are claiming any new illness was caused by the vaccine. I randomly got an autoimmune disease @ 35, but I met somebody this week who blames the vaccine for their identical experience.

Nobody describes open discussion as a threat. Systematic dissemination of public health disinformation during a pandemic isn't that. Inciting violence against minorities isn't that.

This piece really brings the horror home. I am still seeing our culture, exemplified by our press, latching onto "nice guy" and victim-blaming narratives. We must focus on the agency of the people trying to be free, saving those they love.

I'm not going to believe a dehumanizing and dismissive retort from a third party, over decades of comprehensive and nuanced discourse from the people directly affected who answer in good faith.

Because it's not simple at all; tenants face huge costs and risks as severe as homelessness and losing their pets. At worst landlords face a short pause in the windfall from the rigged game.
