The demand for simple solutions in an age of complex problems seems almost universal.

This map of the West Midlands shows a congestion forecast for 2031 if we continue with current car usage trends. Any “plan for motorists” cannot overcome the basic fact that there is more demand than there is capacity. Helping people choose more efficient modes is essential.

There is no such thing as a motorist. Just pedestrians and others who occasionally use cars, bikes, public transport etc to get around. Have a word with yourself, Rishi.
