In 1996 we had 27,550 FTE GPs in England So in 29 years we have gained 151 FTE GPs 151 extra GPs to look after >10million extra patients Wow - this is a huge accomplishment by NHSE workforce planning

So, we now have fewer fully qualified, permanent GPs-down from 28,680 in 2016 to 27,701 in 2025. What an impressive increase. Meanwhile, the number of non-doctors practising as GPs in primary care keeps rising, compromising safety but no one dares to challenge the big players.

When trusts go into OPEL 4, it is common to see senior management put out statements that clinicians should be taking more risks when discharging patients. Who shoulders the liability from these decisions? Is OPEL 4 a defence in an FTP hearing or in court?

We do need to improve asthma care. Investment in community services, improvement in air quality needed along with asthma education. Need the authors to explain why GPs & Paediatricians are in Tier 3 of asthma management while ANPs are in Tier 4-5.

Girls: Have one of these in your bag wherever you go. You never know when you'll be struck with period pains etc. Be careful not to get any in your eyes though, it's almost like being pepper sprayed- which you MUSTN'T carry because that's illegal in the UK.

I don’t have the energy to screen record but everyone watch this video . All ACPs will be credentialed to ST3 level because they do the same medical training , then post credentialing to consultant level . What is the point of Med school @RCollEM ? https://t.co/GRuSmafKLU

I’m an observer re resident doctors’ strike Medicine is one of the most competitive, hardest, longest & now debt ridden courses to supply a critical sector I see salaries of £18p/h compared to trades people because they have to “buy their own tools & petrol” 🤪 Strike so hard

It’s utterly appalling that newly qualified doctors - after 5 years of training - are paid less than “physician assistants” - who have just 2 years of training.

Except that those who were PAs and then retrained as doctors say they barely scratched the surface of the actual medical curriculum in retrospect. I know who I trust on this.

"With immediate effect, please adopt the updated terminology as recommended in the review." - NHS England. Physician's Assistants are really taking the whole name change quite badly. I'm sorry but patient safety and clarity takes precedence over your misplaced sense of pride.

This is NOT “holistic mindful care” it’s gaslighting gone mad. A propofol TCI sedation or GA is care safe effective quick clean recovery. I am all for being nice & supportive but these women do not need to “focus on their breathing” they need safe anaesthesia.

Is this for real ? Women who have just miscarried are given a VR headset to watch instead of anaesthesia while any remains of the pregnancy are removed. This is not progress.

Today’s talks with the Health Secretary were constructive, and we believe there’s a window of opportunity - albeit small - in which the Government can put forward a strong enough proposal to prevent strikes. Full statement: https://t.co/ouJdrPdY3P
