I don’t normally make a big thing of these things, but...it’s hard not to conclude that this was very deliberate snub by JC: choosing not to wear the smart coat we all KNOW is in his wardrobe, cos he wore it last year!

The Queen is back at work. These photos will be a welcome relief to many today. She met Gen Sir Nicholas Carter at Windsor. (He’s standing down as Chief of Defence Staff.)
Y’day my 14 yo daughter was kerb-crawled walking home from school. Guy tried to get her into his car. Mercifully a (rather inebriated) local shouted at him to “f**king leave her alone”. Hooray for him - but another reminder of everyday threats to all girls everywhere. CID aware.
Is there a company more mind-numbingly, soul-destroyingly, exhaustingly, appallingly GHASTLY than
@SkyUK
? I seriously doubt it. No internet, no tv, no explanations, no customer service, no apologies and no solutions. I’m leaving - any suggestions on where to go?
Is it just me? A piece about historic problems in their marriage, now?? What an utterly insensitive muck-raking article to publish when that family has just lost her and is in the first throws of grief. Hideous.
Off air, barely a journalist alive not thinking that the current Covid problems were caused by Johnson delaying India going on the red list to allow him to glad-hand with Modi. On air, barely a word ... Pravda stuff. As for

Here today kids were visited by the Easter Bunny bearing gifts. What they don’t know is their “hero” is an actual hero. NHS anaesthetist, straight off a night shift - dad of 3 - who’s volunteered to work at a Nightingale hospital. Words of admiration don’t begin to cover it.
🧵 The NHS saved my mum’s life yesterday. I have A LOT of reflections and a huge amount to be grateful for, but above all I want to urge people: if you need the emergency services PICK UP THE PHONE…
@Annaisaac
Even our own industry does this. I did a paper review recently w a man. 1st story was business-related, male presenter turns to fellow guest 1st (politics reporter)”let’s start w you as someone who knows about economics“. I guess being former economics editor means I don’t...
Couldn’t agree more. Just been ranting on
@talktv
. Totally misses the point about what makes a good or bad cabinet minister. The qualities needed have NOTHING to do with how you look. I’m shocked that people I respect think it’s relevant. Talk about valuing style over substance.
Genuine question: what on earth must the mental health of most MPs be like at the moment? I know we all like to kick them and decry their uselessness, but I am really quite worried about them all...am I alone?
Don’t know what I’m more excited about: The fact that I can do

in 17 minutes’ time, or the fact that I’ll be 50 in 17 minutes. Maybe there’s more of a connection between those 2 things than I am currently (still clinging to my 40s) prepared to admit. 🤔

By my calculations Kwarteng will be eligible for a £18k redundancy payout for 5 weeks in office. That’s about £600 per “working” day. Nice work if you can get it.

Lovely sketch

“Theresa May arrived in a ball gown. It wasn’t clear whether she had another event to go to, or had just felt like dressing up. She emerged with a smile on her face. As the ancient proverb says, revenge is a dish best served fabulous.” 👇👏
Appalling “customer service” from
@hilarysblinds
. Won’t use again. Paid a lot of money for 5 blinds - waited all day for delivery/installation more than 2 weeks ago. No phone call, no explanation, no new delivery date. Never call back. Left hanging - unlike my blinds. Livid.
@SkyHelpTeam
Well I’m currently on hold to your USELESS “customer services” department, so the first thing you could do is GET THEM TO ANSWER THE BLOODY PHONE....
Former Royal protection officer Richard Griffin reminisces about a picnic he went on with the Queen at Balmoral and an encounter they had with two American tourists who did not realise they were in the company of the monarch.

There are lots of children in my constituency and beyond who will see someone who looks like them walk into No. 10 today. This is a wonderful thing.
We will take on Rishi Sunak on the basis of his record, his policies and the chaos his party has caused.

I worked with Austin Mitchell for many years on the
@TheHouseMag
. Lovely man and never without his camera. In fact he took my parents’ favourite photo of me, which still has pride of place at my mum’s. Sad news today.
I'm saddened by the death of Austin Mitchell who served Great Grimsby with remarkable commitment for 38 years - even changing his surname to 'Haddock' to promote local industry. His sense of humour was matched by his deep Labour values. My thoughts are with his wife and children.

&sons on so-called Freedom Day. Guess what? It’s been cancelled due to CV19 isolation. All businesses are totally hamstrung by the dreaded ping, it’s utterly ludicrous.
I nearly didn’t - it was midnight, it was freezing, my mum was in agony w abdominal pain, but maybe we’d be better waiting in her warm flat until morning? Surely we’d be be waiting for hours in a corridor etc etc? I was so wrong - the service we had was AMAZING, 1st rate.
