Here’s a case of kidney 🫘stones 💎caused probably by dehydration. These calculi are usually Ca or Mg. The diagnosis could be bilateral urolithiasis 👨🏽‍⚕️ as we see two calculi on each side on the scan.

Such a #beautiful day #connecting with this group of future #psychologists and #neuroscientists . We’ve showed them real brain exhibits and talked about how they work. We’ve also chatted about what we do and how @LNDBrainBank helps neuroscience research. #MedTwitter

I am still not convinced if the green colour is an artistry missmatch or this is really an intercranial subdural empyema which is a collection of pus in the subdural space between the dura mater and the arachnoid!

Just read that in Sweden every school has its own CAMHS psychiatrist. Meanwhile in the UK we have over 250,000 kids waiting over 6months for an initial appointment. We have kids waiting days in Emergency departments for a MH bed. Sweden invests in its future. The UK doesn’t.

Is the pituitary stalk visible in brain imaging studies? In reality, the pituitary stalk may not be clearly visualized in all imaging modalities or in every scan. Its visibility can be influenced by factors such as imaging technique, the presence of certain pathologies.

The discovery of #tau #protein 's role in #neurodegeneration has been crucial for accurate neuropathological #diagnosis of diseases such as #Alzheimer 's, making brain donations immensely valuable for research into these conditions.
