I've studied biblical sexual ethics for more than a decade. I really don't think I'm wrong in affirming the queer community.
But from what I know of God, I'd much rather be wrong on a few details of sexual ethics than f*ck up the "love your neighbor."

One of my kids died by suicide, but was killed by homophobia & a lifetime of severe abuse from their bio fam. I don't like telling people how they died, because that "committed suicide" is not the whole story. Other people were far more responsible for their death than they were.

I menstruate, but I'm not a woman, & I know plenty of women who don't menstruate. This addresses menstrual health, so is there something wrong with making the distinction? It tells me it still applies to me, tho I'm not a woman, but not to woman (inc my mom & grandma) who don't.

Lemme guess, you didn't do to well in 11th grade biology class? Sex is a spectrum, Nicole, & all kinds of species move on that spectrum for various reasons by various mechanisms. And the sex of a body may differ from the sex of the brain (called gender).

The words used in that passage historically have been translated otherwise. Malakoi meant soft, was usually used to describe fabric, & when applied to people, described the lifestyle of the idle rich, which fits with the Bible's constant condemnation of exploitative wealth.
