Diarmaid Ward, Islington's housing chief, on BBC 1 describing 28 homes at Wellington Mews in Cally - empty for years. Ministry of Justice trying to sell the site for top whack price. Diarmaid has led the effort to get these homes kept as a public asset to house homeless families.

The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Islington has reduced to near zero. If only we could go for 14 days and seal our borders, NZ style.

Guardian article namechecks Islington. We have brought back in-house all the outsourced services that are legally or contractually possible. Biggest surprise for those old privatisation advocates? It now costs the Council less. And the services improved.

@immdaly @MichealMartinTD @JoeBiden Logan Act criminalises any US citizen negotiating with a country that is in dispute with USA. Neither the Republic of Ireland nor the UK are in dispute with USA.

@PickardJE @MichaelLCrick Johnson obviously detested Islington so much that he moved with his family into that grand house on Colebrooke Row, N1 from their previous Islington house on Furlong Road, N7.

Farage and a cardiac surgeon. Farage, 17 years on the Brussels payroll. Whose only "job" was a commodity trader.

I heard this on Tim Hartford's programme. But the graph really does show the extent of this remarkable error in DfT data. Don't think I've ever seen such a huge data revision.

Tune in to @BBCRadio4 at 9am for a @BBCMoreOrLess segment “How incorrect figures from the govt have given a false picture of the number of cars on Britain’s minor roads”. I spoke to @TimHarford about the error, my role in uncovering it, & the correction.

Islington's response to the pandemic has heavily relied on coordination by the Emergency Control Centre. Working long hours and led by Dan Lawson this team has managed PPE distribution, set up test and vaccination sites and supported frontline service personnel to stay safe.

@mirasi123 LTNs are popular with people living within them, no doubt. Vehicle reductions are 75% or more. But the displaced traffic is then quite a problem. As people living on Essex Rd will attest.

Share bikes are good. But more and more evidence of the "use-it-and-leave-it" ethos that's cluttering Islington. In Hackney this doesn't happen. Uber/Jump, Lime etc have a penalty system for share bikes left like this. But not in Islington. We should change that.
