The BBC has once again found itself in the firing line this week after its editing of a Donald Trump speech fell well below acceptable…

With “thinkers” like Glassman advising the party it is no wonder we are struggling. Read my article about the real bias of the BBC here 👇 https://t.co/ox9veHDDjR

Delighted to be reelected as chair of the Football Supporters Association APPG. An excellent discussion on ticket prices and the accessibility to games for those without season tickets.

It was lovely to meet Cathy a true champion of @DisabilityLab. Honoured to have been made a patron of the organisation and receive a certificate for my continued support for disabled people locally regionally and nationally. Thank you 🌹

Important to support members of @PCS_union outside New Scotland Yard this week. Backroom staff deserve equal treatment in terms of wages terms and conditions 👊✊️

The votes are in: MPs have REJECTED the Conservative and Liberal Democrat attempts to water down Labour's landmark Employment Rights Bill. Time for the Lords to get out of the way, so the Government can deliver on their manifesto commitment to implement a New Deal for Working

Congratulations to Zohran! He stood for cheaper rents, cheaper food prices, free bus services and raising the minimum wage. This is a platform that resonated in NYC and would resonate in Northumberland. Trump, Farage and the rest of the establishment must be scared!

Comments by Nigel Farage and Lee Anderson undermine, stigmatise and degrade victim-survivors of child sexual abuse. It’s dangerous and cruel, and they owe victims an apology. 🧵

Yesterday I raised the crisis facing our high streets. The elderly, vulnerable and local businesses are being deserted by the big banks. It isn't good enough and we need the government to step in. We deserve better. https://t.co/ujOvoMe2xv

So what was the upshot of the Big Votes in the Lords on the Employment Rights Bill? You guessed it - unelected Tory and Lib Dem Peers lined up behind the bad bosses to pass amendments that undermine Labour's Manifesto Commitments - on Day 1 rights, Guaranteed Hours and Repealing
Big day today, as the Employment Rights Bill is back in the House of Lords. Last time, Tory and Lib Dem peers lined up behind the bad bosses, to undermine key new rights in the Bill. MPs in the Commons sent their watering down amendments packing, and now we’re back for round

The right to a guaranteed hours contract, day one protection from being unfairly dismissed - these are clear Manifesto commitments, and what's more they're hugely popular - THIS is the change the UK voted for last year. Time for the vested interests in the Lords to get out of

It’s an honour being the MP for ex mining communities and it was great to bump into some constituents at the @DurhamMiners Gala in the summer. I’ll be wearing the Miners Tartan Tie with pride in the House of Commons Chamber today ✊ Here’s why the tartan is ⚫️⚪️🔴🔵 👇

Today is anti-slavery day. We have to renew our commitment to taking modern day slavery head on. It means rejecting it in supply chains our industry uses. So many industries, like chocolate, tech and more rely on modern slavery and we have to stamp it out.

The North East NUM Thomas Hepburn memorial is always a special occasion I was proud to give the lecture this year. Hepburns Union began 200 years ago and we all benefit from the struggles back then. The past we inherit the future we build .
