Seen this lad smoking outside Heraghty’s bar on Pollockshaws Road in Glasgow yesterday, asked to take his photo, then asked his name. Someone piped up 'you're obviously not from Glasgow if you need to ask his name', which was Jack McLean.

Coming through Carnoustie yesterday when a woman asked me to go and check on this chap as he'd been wondering around the park looking a bit lost, within 2 minutes of talking to him i realised he was anything but lost. His name is Ramsay 'MacNoor', and he was born in Iraq in 1935.

The first ever photo of a surfer, Hawaii 1890. Surfing had been largely stamped out by missionaries who arrived in Hawaii as they thought it ungodly. At the time this picture was taken surfing had been almost wiped out on the island. Fair play to this guy.

Here's a fact. Irn-Bru is manufactured under licence in Russia by the Moscow Brewing Company, they are the only country to hold such a licence. It is the biggest selling soft drink in the country after Coca-Cola. The Russians know what side their bread's buttered. #RussianReport

Thomas Annan (born Dairsie, Fife 1829) was a Scottish photographer, notable for being the first to record the bad housing conditions of the poor. In 1866 he was commissioned to make photographic records of the condemned streets and wynds of Glasgow. Thomas Annan, ca 1855
