The government policy is a shambles. No-one should be detained for the 'crime' of seeking asylum, which is their right. People should also not be prevented from working, far better than raising the retirment age to 70.

Almost a third of people never make it to the age of 70. This means they will pay in all their working lives and never receive a penny in state pension. This is a morally unacceptable cut. Yet there is money left for a huge increase in military spending.

This is completely unaffordable, and it rises to 42% of tenants' incomes in London. A key flaw in the government's homebuilding plans is the complete reliance on the private sector. People need genuinely affordable council housing.

The British government and Europe's NATO members should be actively pursuing peace in Ukraine, which is what Ukraine's people want. Not issuing more threats, placing obstacles and conditions in the way of peace.

Both World Wars were truly global, bringing the conflict and combatants from huge numbers of countries. The role of all those countries and people should be understood and honoured too.

The campaigners are right. It is dog-whistle politics. No-one will care that the majority of crime is committed by white men. Highlighting ethnicity, or religion, will simply be used to fan prejudice and racism.
