My daughter had a nightmare peri-partum. Their house was a disaster. I kept asking S-I-L if I should go clean up. He declined, several times, so I didn’t. Day before she and babe were discharged he cleaned it, did laundry, filled the fridge. Always ask permission.

Absolutely. Hubs was a grad student at Syracuse in 1970. I was a nurse at the medical center. I watched the violence from a 2nd floor window. One instance I clearly saw beating a much smaller black kid with batons. I gave a deposition to the NAACP. This is the same situation.
