That's a damaging vote for Susan Collins. This bill does nothing to stop premiums from doubling #MEpolitics
The Senate is voting NOW on this Republican alternative to the ACA funds that are expiring next month. Democrats are unanimously opposed so far. Susan Collins just voted YES. (The vote is still open.)

Pre-funding for those who can afford to switch to high deductible plans and for accounts with tax benefits skewed to the wealthy
Ahead of side-by-side Senate health care votes, Cassidy makes the case for his HSA plan: “One of the things Democrats keep saying that’s just not true is that, ‘oh, this is a rich man's policy.’ No, we are prefunding these policies.” Crapo-Cassidy bill unlikely to get 60 votes

Maybe we should be asking why leadership is not calling for RFK impeachment. Just a thought.
News: Haley Stevens goes rogue, moves to impeach RFK for undercutting public health. It’s a move not blessed by leadership and some see it as a sign of her struggling to gain traction in a heated Senate primary

In this plan, punitive premium increases for low-income people would cause >1 million to lose coverage.
I just signed a discharge petition to advance forward bipartisan legislation to extend the ACA enhanced premium tax credits for 2-years, inclusive of significant insurance reforms, income limits, PBA reforms, and HSA expansion. This is the only bill that has a chance of

Laughable. Now Collins is alone in supporting a policy that would cause millions to lose coverage ($25 premiums for low-income people) #MEpolitics

"We don't have a lot of time to do this" from the man who has delayed for months
More Thune on ACA: “There are conversations that are happening right now between rank and file members on both sides… “There is an interest in solving it. I don't rule it out. Obviously, we don’t have a lot of time to do this, but I think there are ways in which you could”

Telling that Thune is already abandoning his unpopular plan. He endorsed it just yesterday!
Healthcare latest: Thune says “there's a path forward” for ACA subsidies to be extended even after both votes fail tomorrow. “If you did something with reforms, and structure this program differently so it puts down the pressure on premiums, I think you could do something”

So the GOP is totally ok with premiums doubling. Good to know.
NEWS -- HOUSE REPUBLICAN LEADERS plan to pitch the conference this morning on packaging together a number of popular GOP health care bills -- HSAs, CSR. NOT IN THE PLAN right now: An extension of enhanced premium obamacare subsidies. JOHNSON has promised a floor vote before
