Our new study in Science is out! CKD progresses slower in females. 🔹Estrogens boost female renal progenitors to produce new podocytes for pregnancy adaptation. 🔹Loss of this mechanism causes preeclampsia, maternal CKD risk & fewer nephrons in offspring.
