About 200 intersex children whose features were ambiguous have been assigned at birth. The other 8 billion or so were identified, not assigned. Those intersex were assigned because they did not have those features. Everyone else has them, so no assignment needed.

Is this some kind of police interrogation? Not sure how it works there, but here in the states I first ask "Am I being detained?". If no, I leave. If they fail to clearly indicate no, I cross my arms & say nothing at all until they say I'm free to go.
