The great Polish exodus: The arrival of 100,000s of Poles changed the face of Britain, but now they're returning home in droves for a better life in their low-tax, booming homeland. Could there be a more damning indictment of our decline?

Ethnic cleansing and destruction of the environment and archaeological sites often go hand-in-hand because they are part of the same process. Remove the people, in this case Kurds, then destroy the environment that they loved and made their own; then destroy the ancient sites.

Am I the only one not surprised by the Chomsky photo? People at that level don’t really care about ideology; the public perception that these folk are ideologically different is because they use our divisions in society to profit; but the reality is that behind closed doors they

This is correct, Nixon was probably the best post-war President because he understood who were America’s actual partners. He came to visit De Gaulle and asked for his advice often. I have translated their meetings in entirety on Amphora. Illuminating conversations.

Regardless of who pays for it, it’s a disaster. Gaza needs a huge amount of funds and this was always obvious as the war dragged on into diminishing returns. As I argued early on, fast wars of decisive victory are the best way to do things, not WWI style grueling conflicts .

It’s a tragic story because Gaza deserves to have open access to journalists. But what happened is that it was a Hamas authoritarian state and over time most other media couldn’t get into Gaza or didn’t go, and hired locals who then were co-opted or pressured by the Hamas regime;
