Our latest work sheds light on how chloroplasts enhance plant immunity by moving toward and attaching to the plant-pathogen membrane interface. 👇
⚠️Excited to share my latest in @ThePlantCell🌱! We show that chloroplasts form membrane contact sites (MCS) with the pathogen interface to drive focal immunity, mediated by a tethering complex🔗! Full story 👉 https://t.co/LE3SVlxp5i

Amazing work! Congratulations to Guanghao and the team 🎊🎊 It was amazing to be able to witness this project developing from scratch!
New preprint! We report the largest plant resistosome ever described. We revealed the wheat NLR WAI3, a member from the mysterious CCG10-NLR clade, forms an unprecedented octameric assembly with a unique channel architecture. And the well-known RPS2 might work the same way!

are we sure this is real and not AI generated??!! nice reconfiguration of zigzag as waves on an ocean!
“Jones and Dangl” lock — what are the odds? Jeff says he doesn’t know about it. Whether it’s “JJ” @jonathandgjones or someone else, it’s a fitting tribute to the duo that gave us the zigzag model back in 2001. Jeff got this pic from @DerekSeveri #2025ISMPMI #plantimmunity #NLRs

Plz repost. Fresh Preprint led by @AlexWGuyon When a pathogen pushes into a cell already occupied by a symbiotic fungus, things change. New membrane phosphoinositides at haustoria may impact immunity & trafficking - And the roots are more resistant! https://t.co/Y0zVZX60Vl
1/🚨 New preprint alert! Can mutualists and pathogens co-colonise the same living plant cell and what does that do to the plant membranes that surround these microbes?

Here, we dissect the processing and release mechanism of the maize phytocytokine Zip1. Our results reveal a two-step mechanism of phytocytokine processing, translocation, activation and clearance. Ty @gun_doe @SimonStael @JohanaMisas and everyone involded

Fundamental advancement in agroinfiltration. Finally someone was able to do a DEEP dive into benthamiana infiltration. Must read.
Check out our new preprint! We examined sources of variability of transgene expression in N. benthamiana agroinfiltration and ways to minimize it. Graduate student Sophia Tang observed FP expression in >1,800 plants over the course of nearly 3 years!

Research preview about new paper on the recombinant fungal hybdrid rUSH: https://t.co/oULoL9bDT6 Many thanks to Qianqian Zhang and Mingliang Xu for highlighting our work. Congrats to @janinawern for an excellent job!
Happy to share our work on a recombinant interspecific hybrid of two fungal maize pathogens which helped us to understand how the regulation of effector genes determines infection style and tumor formation. Thanks to @gun_doe, Weiliang Zuo & Tom Winkler! https://t.co/qwAB4Gruq8
