This is well beyond “he’s just not ready”. It is beyond “he plays by his own rules”. There’s something seriously wrong with this guy. He is incapable of normal, decent, compassionate behaviour. Something is missing, and it can’t be fixed.
When the PM calls out bigots, racists and anti-vaxxers, he’s not being divisive. He’s calling out the actual dividers. That’s why they don’t like it.
Calling out bad behaviour is not divisive. It is leadership.
Stephen Harper set up a “barbaric cultural practices” snitch line and banned face coverings at 🇨🇦citizenship ceremonies. He was desperately targeting immigrants for RW votes. And he lost.
Don’t @ me about liberal “divisiveness”. We know how the ugliness got its start.
@CBCNews
@TheMandrewCan
What a joke this guy is. Cries all day about this issue, but when called upon to actually contribute something - he won’t do it.
Take note 🇨🇦.
A far cry from a privileged white guy leaving the scene of a fatal accident and not accepting responsibility (and not disclosing it until there was no choice).
@MariekeWalsh
@WhatsThePointSK
Ottawa judge:
“In Canada, every citizen can disagree… but it has to be done in a democratic fashion… this is what the citizens of the democratic society I serve expect.”
Who is this guy to tell us we “have” to trust parents? Why? I would love to be able to trust all parents, but that’s irrational and unrealistic. A small minority are abusive and unfit. Period. It is far more reasonable to ensure we protect children and uphold their rights.
With all due respect, Charles, take a look at the options. I’ve seen many come and go, and I’m not easy to please, but JT’s capacity to be a calm, steady leader despite very difficult times (and the constant hostility he faces) has impressed me.
JT is still easily the top dog.
This is Jan 28/2023. Every dog has its day. This one is done. Not saying this to disrespect the PM. As a Canadian national leader, his capacity to persuade & inspire, has peaked. It's time for
@JustinTrudeau
to meet his moment.

So here’s how the PM’s meeting with protesters would go:
PM: I’m here to listen.
Mob: Remove all mandates!
PM: Can’t do that, it isn’t safe yet.
Mob: You’re under arrest!
PM: Meeting adjourned.
Mob: Communist!
Aaaaand scene…
👍🏻 PP gets 🥵
"Do we want to see all the anxieties we have and all the challenges around the world and say, 'This is an opportunity for Canada to step up,' or do we want to say 'Canada is broken, we're never going to succeed, let's get really mad instead'"
How can
@PremierScottMoe
stand up as a leader on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation while his own business partner is saying this?
@fsinations
@KevinWaugh_CPC
Why do this? After all of the hard feelings and controversy over the past few days, you wander into that mess and embarrass Saskatchewan with a bad taste photo op that proves the province is not sending its finest to Ottawa.
Far from it.

I hear they’re thinking of marking vehicles with a specific set of numbers and letters that are stored in a central registry AND embedded on a plate that is bolted to the vehicle! And you’ll pay hundreds, maybe thousands for that plate, which makes it easy for you to be tracked!
@globeandmail
I woke up today thinking:
“I really hope the Mop and Pail will get Jen Gerson to weigh in on this earth-shattering passport issue. Because in these times of grave uncertainty, what we desperately need is a smarmy shrew to opine yet again on another inconsequential issue.”
Cmon anti-vaxxers, where is that magical natural immunity you keep talking about? Hmmmm?
Defend this. Defend kids needlessly being sick with something that was non-existent not so long ago.

OTTAWA—In another case of bad behaviour by Conservative MPs, the controversial Pierre Poilievre is in trouble for blowing by an RCMP security check point on Parliament Hill because he didn’t feel like waiting.
@CarymaRules
This sums it all up. This weekend was about people who want no rules. And it is a grim reminder to people who don’t want to be impacted by people who want no rules.
@RepMTG
Here’s what Canadians think. We’re not anxiety-riddled “guvnmint comin to git me” types. We’re much more safe than you because we’re not obsessed with owning guns to “protect” ourselves.
@TaraRHenley
@SubstackInc
I love how the RWNJs come on here like this is some sort of vindication. The real issue (for those of us monitoring the media for decades) is that true journalism continues to disappear thanks to obvious influence from RW corporate ownership. That is the real threat these days.
@KatharineSmart
Such sensible, calm, intelligent thought. Anyone I know would nod their head in obvious agreement.
It is heartbreaking that a message like this cannot penetrate the selfish, closed-off minds of those it really needs to reach.
The RW can cry all day about “woke” being a problem, but the reality is that it is simply conscientious people who want to prevent hate like this. It isn’t the “woke” charging into classrooms stabbing (or shooting) innocent students and teachers.

Notice how he ALWAYS talks about every aspect of PMJT’s existence, but we know nothing about his security clearance issue, sketchy spouse background, mysterious holidays, name change AND WHY HE HAS ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING AS A POLITICIAN IN 20 YEARS.
And anything we DO know is bad.
@RonnyJacksonTX
Hi Ronny, 🇨🇦 here. Don’t take this the wrong way, but speaking of frozen, we’re way colder up here but our power grid isn’t going to kill us.
@PremierScottMoe
Here’s Scooter - the leader of the “in touch” Sask Party that is against: climate change measures, abortion care, public health care, science, education, sensible pandemic approaches and policies not driven by religion.
But he invented farmland, potash, uranium and oil 😂.
@DetachWestern
Mixed breed dogs are genetically superior to purebred dogs that are confined to their own narrow gene pool. Diversity makes you stronger. True story.

Unselfish. Common sense. Respect for others. Respect for science. Respect for elders. Educated. Not rednecked. Conspiracies don’t drive public policy. Health care is a right. No Republicans. No Fox News. No Trump. Strong cultural belief in masking.
I could go on…

For anyone out there warning of filthy socialism and evil communism, here’s your chance to take a stand and send that cheque back.

Shocking that a very noticeable drag queen could get away with this for so long at the testosterone Stampede. Wait a minute…
@rupasubramanya
Little did you know the Freedom Convoy protests would go down as the most embarrassing devoid-of-culture moments in Canada's history, befuddle the world (why would 🇨🇦 ever whine?), and change your grift forever.
Murray gets it wrong here: “perhaps the rule bending was needed to be fair to Saskatchewan natural gas users.”
Nope. Natural gas is far cheaper than heating oil. The unfairness is imaginary.
Too many contradictions for a law-abiding government

I think I speak for most ordinary hardworking Canadians when I say that I don’t have the time, money, immaturity or political illiteracy to drive all the way to Ottawa to party on the streets and act like a jackass - over nothing.
Very first chance Conservatives have to speak on the First Nations Clean Water Act, and they accuse First Nations of burning down their own water systems and not being smart enough to operate them.

It is Saskatchewan’s publicly owned power utility - not Moe’s. He’s a Con. He’d love to sell if he could get away with it.
@PierrePoilievre
Politicians of all stripes can be hypocritical and dishonest. They can show poor judgement because they are human. But over time, they show you who they really are.
The PM doesn’t pander to white nationalists, conspiracy nuts, anti-science rubes and insurrectionists.
You do.
@PremierScottMoe
So our economic potential isn’t already unlocked? Our economy isn’t firing on all cylinders? I thought things were awesome, based on listening to you and your govt.
WTH have you been doing the past 15 years?
Jenni Byrne is an absolute blight on our politics. Nothing of value to add and just an absolutely pathetic performance. Not unlike the govt she worked in.
And yikes, I see why she was with PP at one time. Two equally repellent Cons. 🐍 🦎
🚨BREAKING -Top advisor to Harper & now Poilievre, Jenni Byrne could not name one thing that the Conservatives did to combat foreign interference during the Harper era, despite the fact that every national intelligence and security expert says the threat goes back 30yrs.

@atRachelGilmore
There were too many bad actors in that crowd, and you don’t manage a crisis based on the harmless element of the protest. No one should be surprised. Anyone watching it all unfold (without partisan blinders on) could see that it was going to be needed.
@aaronhoyland
I’m really starting to wonder if Alberta is a lost cause. Anyone with a hint of morality and decency would be appalled by this. Those three guys are just reprehensible, irredeemable people and the Premier stands there with them sporting a vacuous smile.
@gmbutts
There has to be a united sacrifice. And if the West understandably doesn’t want it to be lives, then it has to be $. I’m sure most citizens would agree.
@aaronhoyland
Interesting that the anti-vaxx “bodily autonomy” crowd wants to equate a public health measure affecting everyone with an exceedingly personal and private reproductive health decision.
Not the brightest💡💡💡💡💡.

News flash: Actually STANDING with and SUPPORTING these reprehensible people (as numerous Cons clearly did) is far more divisive than someone simply pointing out that they did.
@ThoughtsNations
@ChantalHbert
Coyne’s comment about PP supporters wanting a leader they don’t have to “look up to” and “who is as small and insecure as they are” makes a lot of sense.
-Homeless encampments in front of Regina City Hall
-A disabled senior gets evicted and then gouged by an SP MLA’s motel
-Want a mammogram? Well, wait a year
But there’s always cash for this:
Masters and Moe's trip to Dubai for COP28 wastes tax dollars
@PremierScottMoe

You know what increases I’m noticing? Utilities. You could address that, yet 🦗 🦗🦗🦗.

Can the govt make sure church isn’t an option too? That kind of unfettered indoctrination in the hands of the wrong parents is irreparable.

Hope you’ll forgive folks for not having any confidence in your govt regarding good faith bargaining after the legislative travesty you pulled last week.
@PierrePoilievre
That’s a deep dark mineshaft you just went down. Wow.
FYI, before you start telling me that “common people” should make complicated decisions for me that require very specific expertise, please get a security background check done and share it. Let’s see how “common” you are 🤔.
@NadineGNess
Cannot believe you’re actually defending that behaviour. There are ALWAYS people losing jobs and businesses. That never stops. That’s capitalism.
Been around a long time and this is an alarmingly simplistic, immature and unserious response to a serious issue.

Complaints? Sure. Whining? Yep. Pandemic challenges? Absolutely. But broken? Nope. Most people are just living their lives.
