What is the cardiovascular significance of adipose tissue surrounding the heart? Our study, published in @JAMACardio today, asked this question: https://t.co/Zkn1tmUkVP.
jamanetwork.com
This cohort study investigates the cardiovascular disease associations and genetic determinants of epicardial and pericardial adiposity.

Is the ECG secretly a sphygmomanometer? We trained a neural net to predict hypertension from ECGs and found it associated with many cardiovascular outcomes.

We went on to perform Mendelian randomization, to find causal risk factors for DCM through genetics 🧬 We identified several potential causes of DCM, including AF, bodyweight, height and SBP with bodyweight and SBP remaining as independent and robust causal risk factors ♥️➡️❤️🔥

Exercise is beneficial for health. But many people have to cram their activity into 1-2 days/week. Do they still get the benefit? To find out, we looked at associations of "weekend warrior” (WW) physical activity) and >600 diseases, now @CircAHA ! A 🧵 https://t.co/lUQM0kjPHl
