Last night I dreamt that this thing existed for some reason I’m pretty sure its name was Weedler… it looked just like this, semi-2D and all.

So, from what I’ve heard, the extended universe did have an answer and it doesn’t contradict anything in the official canon (yet).
Basically, Yoda’s just a space boomer refusing to update how he speaks. Galactic Basic changed syntax during his lifetime and he didn’t keep up.
