I just started watching Cardcaptor Sakura and they don’t even TRY to hide how gay everyone is… like, look at this little gay boy having a full-on gay crisis because his cute senpai offered him food.
Like, it’s EXPLICITLY stated that Li has a crush on Yukito.
when people insist lgbt stuff in jpn media is from modern western influence i kinda have to laugh considering they had to stop dubbing sailor moon in america initially and didn’t adapt the final season until like 20 something years later because it got too fucking gay to censor

So, the only things I knew going into the show were Yukito and Touya being gay for each other, and I had a repressed memory of Tomoyo being in lesbians with Sakura.

iirc, the "uncensored" cut of the Animax Hong Kong English dub switches to JP audio with English subs for scenes that were too gay for mid 2000s Asian TV.

My god, I watched it on Cartoon Network Latin America when it first aired and I had like 5-6 years old. Then I rewatched it years later and I couldn't believe the quantity of homoerotic subtext. It was everywhere: Yukito/Toya, Shaoran/Yukito, Tomoyo/Sakura. Blew my mind, really.

Yeah, I mean, it was written by CLAMP. Most of their body of work is pretty fucking gay. Tokyo Babylon practically needs no introduction
