Even if you go for the angle of it being prone to misuse. Katara showed that bloodbending cancels bloodbending. Just have every waterbender know how to do it and there’ll be enough “good guys with guns” to stop the bad ones. I mean, they let lightningbenders just walk around.
@AtlantisFell
Like it's wild how it became an issue of morality, because Avatar Yang Chen had no issues with using her breath bending in moderation. She knew the limitations of it and never used it cruelly

The Air Benders killed fire Benders in their struggle to survive. Kiyoshi killed a tyrant without thinking twice. The Fire Nation committed endless genocide and global tyranny. Yet those bending arts aren't banned.
@AtlantisFell
Yeah, because technically Firebenders are walking assault weapons, yet their bending styles were never banned. We spent entire seasons being fed the narrative that fire only destroys. Lightning bending is straight up lethal

Thinking about it, blood-bending seems like an extension of healing. If fucking around with someone’s chi paths is cool, why not blood-bending? You can use it to promote bloodflow or even as rehab.

Have a hospital wing full of people in comas that you don’t want getting bed sores and having muscle atrophy? Bloodbend the entire room into doing an exercise regimen. It could even aid in teaching others how to bend.

It’s easier to copy a movement through feel than by sight. If someone is really struggling with forms, bend their body into the right pose and let them feel what it should feel like.

There’s SO many positive applications of bloodbending that I can think of aside from being an effective tool in a war where the consequence of losing is genocide.
